Ah, I'm pretty familiar with that... It's partly why I have my email in my bio now for if people want to talk to me directly. If it keeps getting worse, I'll probably end up getting one because letting companies store my ID is a very bad idea for every reason imaginable.

This quote also caught my eye. Like, yeah, I guess that's his job? But this tells me either: a) he thinks non-white, non-American, non-cishet stories CANNOT appeal to broad audiences, or b) he just doesn't know how to make it "appealing to everyone".

Also, the very next paragraph: Over a year and probably a LOT of money (and goodwill) burned... only for it to screen MARGINALLY better than before. Way to go, dude. I'm no accountant, but I'm guessing that an extra year of work for a slightly higher box office is a poor business decision.

OK, so: it seems to be a merging of the "Triumph" timelines, or at least it's open to interpretation which one it can append to. And while the canonicity of the Dark Horse books are somewhat up for debate, the wiki does have that quote from them I was thinking of. zeldawiki.wiki/wiki/Zelda_T...

"The Legend of Zelda History", a graphic showed at Nintendo Life 2024 in Sydney, Australia, depicting the Zelda timeline. The timeline is broadly similar to the original Hyrule Historia timeline, with two exceptions:
a) Link Between Worlds and Triforce Heroes are placed in the "Defeated" timeline, between the Oracle games and the original Zelda
b) Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are placed after both "Triumphant" timelines, signaling that these timelines have merged or can both be followed by those games.
