& has the almost impossible to find box insert still, along with a Woolco price tag. All in all a really cool piece of Canadian toy history that I’m happy to have in my collection.

here in Canada where the popularity of GIJoe in 1982 created a premium for pricing (which later went down, then back up again.) I’ll touch on that later on in a different post. I hope you all enjoy :)

I haven’t had time to spend sorting & organizing since 2005. It’s been fun to actually be able to enjoy some of these things, I’ve only had little bits of time here and there and never enough to do some of the things I’ve always wanted to do. Hoping to display some of this stuff properly FINALLY.

This was probably the hardest “run” to complete in all of my collecting time. These are all samples of the blue ink Canadian ‘Joe MOCs from 1982-83.

Canadian MOC Cobras & US release MOC Cobras NFS

Inspired to post by a really cool friend (Peter, that’s you!) these are the “GIJOE Movie” releases of Cobra-La & Sgt. Slaughter’s Renegades on Canadian cards from 1987.

A Baroness on any card is super hard to come across, let alone a Canadian one. This AFA 1984 75 is a fun one to add to the collection. #CoolFinds #GiJoe

Had a chance to meet an awesome guy who had the wherewithal to realize that his family probably SHOULDN’T donate this to goodwill or throw it out. Was a perfect opportunity to grab a good friend and head out to check it out. Local stuff is always fun to find, especially figs & vehicles with boxes. 🇨🇦

One other interesting thing is that this vehicle was actually made in Ireland by Hasbro, as many of the European vehicles were. They tend to have a different shade of white.. the mail away Cobra Wolf is a good and easy to see example of the different shades of white. Anyone else a fan?

This is an AFA 75+ Canadian 1985 Dusty. Interestingly enough his card art appears to be almost exactly the same as Grunt from 1982 with a super similar pose & face. His French designation is “Desert Infantryman.” I’ve always been a fan of this particular figure- anyone else?

AFA graded 85 1986 Canadian Beach Head or Tête de Pont (Bridgehead) in French who was also a “hunter” (Chasseur) instead of a “Ranger” from the collection. It was really interesting how many of the French names were very different than their English counterparts. Génial!

Here’s a pair of Canadian cards from 1985 that don’t come around too often but are awesome to see in the unique Canadian font & bilingual titles. This particular Storm Shadow card is also missing the trademark on the “Cobra Enemy” bubble. These are two of my favourite Canadian cards.

1993 Funskool India MOC Battle Android Trooper AFA 70+ from the personal collection. Older Funskool MOCs are famous for their typical rough condition. This version of the BAT had a different chest plate without the more common lenticular sticker. Note that this BAT also has the variant black elbows.

THIS IS A RECENT PICKUP FOR THE PERSONAL COLLECTION THAT HELPS TO FILL A GAP FOR A VERY REASONABLE PRICE AS THE FIGURE HAS SOME DISCOLOURATION. Somehow in my years of collecting I never had a “regular “ Cobra commander regular release card so I was happy to add this one. Truly an iconic character!

Cold weekends are the best for sorting Joes.

Superlative Saturday- Canadian MOC Python Patrol set. These used to be way more common to find than they are nowadays. Anyone a Python Patrol fan?

Fortuitous Friday (again.) Four Canadian cards that I came across months ago & added them to the MOC bins… Zarana, Budo, Astro Viper & Muskrat. The Zarana doesn’t pop up every day!

Really cool addition to the ‘Joe comics library- this is a copy of a CGC 9.6 GIJoe #1 that belonged to Nel Yomtov when he worked in Marvel Licensing which would have been given by him to potential clients for licensing before there was other material to use to showcase the GIJoe brand back in 1982.

Had to take one of my Sons to an AA Hockey Showcase in Calgary for the weekend and I’m always on the lookout- found this near-mint Canadian FANG box and a MOC Canadian Pièdéclair! (Lightfoot.) I love finding Canadian ‘Joe stuff in the wild, still in 2026!

Picked up a MOC Canadian Battle Android Trooper originally sold at a Hart Department Store in Montreal in 1986. This particular BAT(S) has its lenticular sticker still attached, is offerless and unpunched. I have a few of these & personally love this iteration of the BAT!

"Salopard" is a French vulgar noun used to describe a despicable, unscrupulous person who acts in a vile manner, akin to "bastard," "scumbag," or "scoundrel" in English. It is a highly derogatory term used as an insult, often referring to someone with poor moral character. Anyone else a fan?

Was incredibly happy to pick these very early, very special 9 back American MOCs from Sears back in 1982. If you know, you know. I’ll be doing a bigger post about them in the future.

Going through boxes that came in the mail all last year. Picked up this Mexican Vagabundo… it’s kind of cool that they sold Footloose as Grunt down there who was his actual replacement in the figure line. I really like the Auriken boxes. Anyone else have love for Mexican Joes?

Dunno why I like the STUN so much. It’s so ridiculously awesome.

Going to spend a few hours today moving, opening boxes & trying to organize on this Family Day holiday.
