Inspired by my wife’s new obsession with watercolor, I painted Chewbacca. Not too bad for a first attempt using watercolor markers. Old Fur Face is a pretty forgiving subject for the medium!

I love having a local toy shop that doesn’t charge markup on most items still at retail. I’ll give them money all day long compared to Target or Walmart. Shop Sarge and Red’s if you’re in Metro Detroit. Don’t waste your gas driving all over town.

Ross finds: Batman Beyond Batarang $10, McFarlane Superman $13, $1 Sesame Street ReAction blind boxes. Snagged 9 of the blind boxes, got one of each except Big Bird. Somehow got the translucent mystery version of him twice.
Finally got lucky and snagged the Night Creepers with D.I.R.E. Tech. That green translucent plastic is going to get me every time. The visor on the masked head is also green translucent, but doesn’t show up very well. Wish they had put a hole on the hood to allow some light to get in Jawa style.
That have the cinematic Batmans that are starting to pop up here in MI for just under $40.
Finally added Emma to the Astonishing shelf. Love the way this set turned out. It’s not perfect, but they look great together.
Finally got a chance to finish up the base and add the wrought iron gate. That’s a wrap on my most ambitious diorama project to date. Really happy with how it turned out! Learned some lessons for future builds.
Chatsworth from Operation Monster Force is a fantastic figure. They can sell just the basic figure without all the accessories and it would still be a fantastic figure. I hope they consider offering a basic version. He’s worthy of multiple display options. Can we assume the bad guys get a Yeti?
Is there anything better than figuring out an inexpensive way to mimic architectural flourishes? Probably lots of things actually, but right now I’ll be content with working through a problem and coming up with a solution.
