The Outwaters (2022) ⭐️⭐️ sound design was phenomenal; i will never watch it again. the director said it's supposed to feel like a sensory panic attack and although that is something i didn't experience, i will say the screaming intestines and our mc cutting his own organs out Did catch me off guard.
Grave Encounters 2 (2012) ⭐️⭐️⭐️ i was thinking the scares were better the whole time, and i was really happy they actually showed the character deaths this time instead of leaving it vague and up to interpretation ... but then a black hole appeared. also alex wright is just another me.
Grave Encounters (2011) ⭐️⭐️ ghost adventures rip-off featuring the backrooms, free lobotomies, and rat mukbang.
The Roundup: Punishment (2024) ⭐️⭐️⭐️ this was a lot more cute/funny than i thought it would be, which was quite refreshing. i also think i might be in love with every character kim mu-yeol has played.
The Gangster, the Cop, the Devil (2019) ⭐️⭐️⭐️ i'm honestly not surprised that this was based on a true story, as even in recent years, there have been eerily similar criminal cases. although not many have ended up this interwoven, hearing about people losing their lives makes this film familiar.
Twister (1996) ⭐️⭐️ the sound effects and explosions made me laugh a little, but my love for dusty kept me going.
Monster (2014) ⭐️⭐️⭐️ why do they always have to make the antagonists attractive? i'm a simple girl.
Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "in solitude, i felt the liberty you spoke of. but i also felt your absence." / "do all lovers feel they're inventing something" / "when you asked me if i had known love. i could tell the answer was yes. and that it was now."
The Third Murder (2017) ⭐️⭐️⭐️ we as audience members are inclined to believe the images we are shown, but this film makes you question that. they tell you to trust that the film's presentation of events is accurate, then feeds you misleading information until even we get wrapped up in the narrative.
I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025) ⭐️⭐️⭐️ the whole franchise is lowkey just scream but consistently revenge-motivated. i quite liked our two main characters, and i ended the movie feeling fonder of them than of anything else.
The Borderlands (2013) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ i want more answers. i want a second movie. the ending has me speechless. who found the footage. How did they find the footage.
6 Underground (2019) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ just as peak as i remember it being, one of the best action movies to date, and i will die on that.
First Contact (2023) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ if not for the fade-to-black scene transitions and some poor editing, i would be tempted to give it five stars. i went in assuming it would be like nope, but with white main characters who make dumber decisions, and ended up shocked by how much i enjoyed this movie.
Island Escape (2023) ⭐️⭐️ the idea was really fucking cool, and they revealed everything really well throughout. however the execution was poor. fight scenes were in slow-mo, sound effects were from the 90's, and the action never looked like anyone was actually ... doing ... anything.
Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor (2023) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ my questions from the first movie were all answered here in ways i never would have expected, and they tied in my former complaints really well. the explanation was seamless, the characters were loveable, but i wanted to see more details.
Hell House LLC (2015) ⭐️⭐️⭐️ the documentary-style progression, the found footage, and how real the events and reactions felt certainly made this quite a scary film to watch in the middle of the night. however, the ending felt cheap. i think this film would have been better through a human lens.
The Croods (2013) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ surprisingly, a genuine and heartfelt film showing the struggle of growing out of tradition and learning how to let go of that familiarity when it has kept you safe for so long. the family struggles were relatable and easy to empathize with. however, parts were cheesy.
Thunderbird (2022) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ the lighting and cinematography were gorgeous. the ending felt a little slow compared to the rest of the film, but it was still greatly enjoyable.
Shark: The Beginning (2021) ⭐️⭐️⭐️ me when i tell the guy i've been tormenting for years to stab me in the eye, and then get shocked when he actually does it.
Unlocked (2023) ⭐️⭐️⭐️ a bit tedious and slow-moving but the idea was a frightening reality and i certainly do adore antagonists with no traumatic background or motive. im siwan, please ever stop doing horror films.
