The Carpentries has fantastic representation at the National Society of Black Engineers Convention in Baltimore #NSBE2026. 🌟 Today, Carpentries Instructor, Sarah Brown, is teaching a Software Carpentry workshop, with Syreeta Thomas as helper. Our ED @drkariljordan.carpentries.org is also attending!
The meeting brings together the industry, academic, and capacity and infrastructure community builders and projects to discuss using AI for science. For those in attendance who wish to connect with Kari and engage about The Carpentries, here are the sessions she plans to attend on 11-13 March:

A busy week for our Director of Curriculum @tobyhodges.carpentries.org, who attended the #deRSE26 conference at the University of Stuttgart! He presented a talk on the developments around the AI Carpentry project, and also co-led two @hpc-carpentry.bsky.social-related sessions. Thank you, Toby! 🙏💙
From 1 September, The Carpentries will have four official Lesson Programs: Data Carpentry, Library Carpentry, Software Carpentry, and HPC Carpentry! 🎉
Over the last twelve months, lesson developers either transitioned their repositories to The Carpentries Workbench or requested that the Curriculum Team make the transition for them. Recently, the Curriculum Team has been archiving repositories that had not migrated to the Workbench.
To underscore the magnitude of this donation, we also bring attention to our Gratitude of the Month in our January 2026 newsletter. In it, we thanked our community for their contributions in helping us raise just over $6,000 in donations in 2025, an amount more than the prior two years combined! 🎉
We are so grateful for the generosity of the volunteer organisers of the Winter Analytics Summit for choosing The Carpentries as their charity of choice to donate to $3,300 worth of the summit's registration proceeds. 🙌 The summit was held on 20 - 22 February 2026.
