Wife, mom, Grandma, retired, and bleeding heart. Like to read, travel & eat healthy. I love a glass of good wine and don’t think it has to be expensive to be good. I believe in the saying: “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” 😁 Blue 🔵 in a red state. #Angret
“Painting.” 🤭 Yeah, it’s a real work of art all right! 🙄 (I wonder WTH *this* part is supposed to mean??)
This reflecting pool at a botanical garden is how it’s done! With a dark black coating (liner), it looks for all the world like a pool of ink, and the reflection is as clear as a mirror (slight ripples are from a small fountain). It’s not supposed to look like a swimming pool, for cryin’ out loud 🤦🏻♀️
What’s his point??!! I could say the same about Blanche, his nominee for Atty General, who seems to be in permanent frown mode. I “never see a smile on his face,” either; is Trump saying that’s a disqualifier? 🤨
Dammit. 😡 I wondered why she wasn’t testifying under oath as I *thought* she was going to, so I googled it and saw this. (I hadn’t ever heard about that decision. ☹️)
This is one of the photos that always breaks my heart: Gordon Parks’ picture of these precious kids, longing to play on a playground they weren’t allowed to access. 😭 We just CAN’T go backwards!
Whaddya wannna bet Trump will start wearing a string of made-up medals across his jacket, now that he’s spent time with King Charles?! 🙄
He thinks so, doesn’t he! 😝 The arrogance is astounding (and probably compensating for his insecurity). He thinks he knows more about EVERYTHING than all the experts. 🤨 I often think of this quote from Theodore Roosevelt’s daughter…but at least HE did some good things and deserved the attention!
Good point. Even when EVERYONE around him is dressed appropriately for an event (like a football game), there he is in his dark blue suit & red tie! 😝 There *is* this ONE photo from (I believe) 2017…his buddy must have a powerful influence on him 🤔🤷🏻♀️
Do you do the NYT “Spelling Bee” game? I don’t very often but did today and noticed this: They don’t allow proper names but if they did, BARACK and OBAMA could both be spelled with the letters provided today—on Presidents Day. 😁 Coincidence?? I think not! 😂
I can’t vouch for the numbers in this meme but even if they’re off by a bit, we get the point—it certainly SEEMS grudge-y! 🤨
What about these three? I know past presidents don’t usually involve themselves in subsequent presidencies, but we have a serious, unprecedented situation here. 😟 Many of us “normals” feel powerless. It’s time for a presidential bat signal!
“One more time, and I’ll put you in handcuffs” - one more time of WHAT exactly? Of watching their actions in a public space? Of merely stating his right to watch? Here’s the first point of the U.S. Code they’re accusing him of. They must think making them feel guilty is “interfering,” but it’s not
It seems to be the MOST plausible explanation that I’ve heard, although I don’t know beyond that. This drug has also been mentioned (Kisunla)…it sounds similar. Zoom on the first photo—it mentions the need for periodic MRIs and is infused; this type of infusion site fits to explain the bruising, too
Just for kicks, I asked Grok “Is Robert DeNiro a successful actor?” (Miller KNOWS we all know the truth, doesn’t he? 🤨)
Sadly, we didn’t need a crystal ball to foresee this.😟 On 60 Minutes, Jared Kushner said THIS (see screenshot) re: making a peace deal between Israel & Hamas…note that he said Trump needed to hold Israel to their word but added that given the relations between them, there was zero trust to be found.
My husband & I saw a wonderful stage show last weekend—Amadeus. Skimming through the Director’s Notes where she mentioned others who’ve played the lead parts, I found out Mark Hamill had played Mozart on Broadway…I never knew that! A VERY difficult role…bravo, Sir 🙌🏼 @markhamillofficial.bsky.social
From a chat group of young Republicans that Politico reported on. That’s a bit of a self-own here 🤨
Did a quick image search for June 14th No Kings rally crowds. The signs scream “homemade” to me! 🤔
Agree…it’s they who make it look like a war zone. I’ve visited Portland, and it’s utterly charming! The International Rose Test Garden in Washington Park took my breath away 🌹🥰❤️
This excerpt is from a TIME article about his loss after shamelessly campaigning for it. Funny how he pre-butted the decision to save face (just in case 🙄), and of COURSE it’s because he’s not a liberal! 🤦🏻♀️ But it’s “fine,” because he didn’t end those wars for the Prize…he was saving lives! 🫤
This would be a good time to hear a big message from the Right Rev Mariann Budde, too, and any respected ministers who support social justice. She’s the Episcopal Bishop of Washington who gave the sermon at the inaugural prayer service. I’d almost forgotten that, with all the outrages since then! 😣
Although he was a lieutenant-colonel (not a “general”), Churchill was still able to lead England pretty darn well, in spite of his girth and cigar habit
That was not unheard of in the 1960s-early ‘70s! 😁…if asked what color her bridesmaids’ dresses were going to be, the bride would say “I’m having a rainbow wedding” (to be honest, if asked, most grooms probably had no idea what the dress color(s) would be 😆). Wedding planning’s very different now!
