I’ve made comics for The New Yorker, MAD Magazine, Disney, and more! Check out my MWF strip at GoComics.com/curses
Went to pick raspberries with my daughter yesterday and found this in one of the bushes
I was googling and I’m going to be so sad if the winner doesn’t receive an engraved vape pen now. (Also, I hope you win it!!)
My dad’s 73rd birthday is on Tuesday. He lives in Ohio but a few years ago on my 40th birthday he met me in Pittsburgh at the Andy Warhol Museum. He’s a pretty cool dude.
I was going to leave these peonies on the plant but it rained all day and they were drooping so I brought them inside. Also, I bought two new peony bushes from a place called Peony’s Envy and I didn’t get the joke until I got home.
My daughter’s 8th birthday party was today. She requested an all black cake with a skull on it.
So my agent asked for a photo of me, not an illustration. I never take selfies so I just did this one. I felt like I should be holding something? That’s Henry.
My new picture I sent to my agent for the book announcement. It actually doesn’t look like me now because in real life I’m having a hair crisis.
The high school where I teach is an agriculture and natural resources magnet. Today is what we call “Tractor Day,” where all the kids get to go outside and see the projects the ag kids are working on and our school’s farm animals.
Someone put this in the women’s locker room at my gym. A book about menopause by a cis-dude “toughness coach.” 🙃
Today at the farmers market I bought a broom woven by a woman who also does blacksmithing (she forged the handle herself.) I hung it over our robot vacuum.
Every year my son brings his rabbit to the local 4H egg hunt to serve as a real-life Easter bunny. This year he also brought his rabbit’s daughter. (Brown and white is the mom — Bunnelby. The brown one has white feet, hence her name, Boots.)
Also, my family went out to celebrate with giant milkshakes last night
Guess what?! Andrews McMeel made a multi-book offer on turning Curses! into a graphic novel series! I cannot even explain how happy I am!!
Today I went to my daughter’s school to help her disguise a turkey. She wanted to make hers a heavy metal singer. Meet Gob Halford, lead singer of Judas Feast.
Thanks, I’ll check it out. Side note, my daughter brought this home from the library today:
Just got back from CXC! (Well, not *just.* I fell asleep for three hours after I got back.) Anyway, here’s my comics haul!
My SPX haul! I’m telling myself I need to reign it in next week for CXC, but I probably won’t.
Do I have any French-speaking friends? This sticker was on my son’s laptop from school. He’s been doing Duolingo French and he *thinks* it says “it’s successful,” but what’s successful? The dinosaur’s death?
My daughter, who likes scary stuff, asked to buy a Creepshow coloring book at the comic book store (no she has no seen the movie.) She opened it in the car and I was wondering why both kids started laughing hysterically…
Today I took my daughter to a local farm to pick peaches. We spotted this pig in the orchard so we let the farmer know she had escaped. Apparently she gets out daily, eats fermented fruit until she gets wasted, then stumbles home at night. Good for her.
My husband and I just saw Green Jelly play in a crust punk bar in the middle of nowhere, PA, and had the best time.
Hi, #portfolioday I’m a New Yorker cartoonist who recently parted (amicably) with my agent. I’m looking for representation, jobs, publication, or maybe a pat on the head and a cookie. You can see more of my work at www.carr-toons.com
