#OldWorld Game of the week 340, Play as Hatti. Northern Ocean against Egypt and Kush "The Just" level on a tiny map, so a Double victory was the goal and the goal was met fast (79 turns)
I thought everyone knew that a woman *check notes* born from an egg laid after a swan-god mates with a woman, can only be alabaster white.
#OldWorld Picked the right pre-set map this time, and got to play as Kush. The downside of a premade map is a bit of metagame knowledge. I knew as KushI needed to expand North first until I ran into Egypt, which I proceeded to do, then move East to the Arabian peninsula.
Latest #OldWorld game, Mediterranean style map, Random nation Greece/Leonidas This was a dogfight to the end and sadly I lost it in the final turns. Persia played spoiler. At the expansion phase they got a city site I wanted, that gave them a much better border to attack from.
The Yak(fest)-25 interceptor. It is a little known fact that the NATO reporting name of Flashlight was due to a typo in one of the vowels.
I accidentally chose the wrong #OldWorld map. I wanted the Med+Middle East preset I got Ireland to Australia and didn't notice for a while. Rome with Agrippina Myself, Carthage, Egypt, Assyria and Persia more or less historical positions Greece in India Babylon in China
Mr Shockwave would like everyone to know that life is hard right now. The kids Summer schedule is messing with his naptime.
Next game of Old world was different Random Map Highlands. Sparse, so lots of space between cities. In fact only 18 city sites total, split between 7 nations so a very different style of play needed than normal. Random nation gave me Babylon Scouted very heavily, much more so than usual.
Another game of #OldWorld, but mixed it up a bit. Main change is adding 2 more empires than the recommended for the map size to force a conflict or two to get to the victory conditions. Random map was Northern Ocean. Random Nation: Carthage, with Hannibal.
First thing seen upon entering a church hall this evening. #HappyPride everyone
The Sutallee Trace Trails were created as a celebration in 1976 with some Bicentennial funds. We did some work on them this weekend, in honour of their 50 year anniversary. Reader it was HOT and hard work.
It was about turn 50 when I realised I was playing "The Good" not "The Strong" I had changed up some settings and that one got forgotten. Rome easy win, I couldn't keep producing Settlers fast enough to keep up with the Legions. 2 units lost the whole game, defeating 107.
Old World game Random size (medium) Random map (Multiple continents) Random Nation (Greece) VP win (but only just) At the end: Greece 37 Carthage 36 Rome 34 Who got a city to move up in Culture first was the key for that final VP.
Big Bertha takes flight (after the kid is doing a recovery when they shouldn't) C6-5 Engine. Sadly lost into the trees after this flight.
Last years model rocket, versus this years. Big Bertha should approach 500 feet, with the right engine. Going to do a lower power test first. Tomorrow is launch day.
Basecolor needs one more coat. Then accent color (black fins and nose cone) Decals Clearcoat and final assembly of recovery parachute etc. We are going to be cleared for launch on Saturday. Will test with a D class motor first, but have some C class ones which should hit 500 feet.
Model rocketry Engine module is firmly attached inside 1st fin is on.
Random everything Old World game at "The Good" difficulty Map: Large Mediterranean, never got good visibility across the world, after getting the Oracle, recon by caravan helped get a feel for things though. Egypt with King Tut, who took the field and was vital in the early expansion.
Huge map - Which is too much for my PC, turns were dragging at the end Random Script - Mediterranean Random nation - Carthage-Dido Easy win on the Strong level. VP win with over a 20 point cushion.
Straight out of the manual, absolutely by the book set-up 4 days done, range torn down. Slingshots tomorrow night.
#OldWorld Large World Random map script gave me Bay Random Nation gave me Hatti Win by 4 VP over Kush, but was sat just 1 achievement away from that type of victory. Kush was the main rival and we had one long war with no city taken.
This was a fun one of #OldWorld Random nation Assyria - not a huge fan of them, especially their unique units but that was the hand dealt. Lakes and Inland Seas map. The "border boost" technology card came late for me an the effect is very obvious with so many cities
