On April 29, Joe Karkoski, Deputy Director of the board’s Financial Assistance Division, attended the ribbon cutting of a new PFAS treatment project in Santa Clarita Valley. The board partnered with @scv_water and funded $32M, with $10M of it as a zero-interest loan.
After a major sewage spill impacted Suisun Bay, releasing over 23 million gallons of untreated wastewater, a $5.6 million settlement has been approved by the San Francisco Bay regional water board with Delta Diablo, a wastewater treatment agency serving eastern Contra Costa.
To help families in East Orosi overcome drinking water contaminated with unhealthy levels of nitrates, the State Water Board provided $15 million to connect the town to a safer water system. The new project broke ground on #EarthDay .
