Indie, Sci Fi, and Horror game streamer, some writing! Trapped in the basement of a laboratory megastructure - maybe forever. AVI by @tr3ntc0r3.bsky.social !
I'm getting the stream set up to go now, so we'll be going live in just a few minutes.
This stream we're continuing with more Catgirl - a lighthearted indie RPG about getting friend, who is a dog and a talented mediocre artist, back from the clutches of an evil sorceress who feels strongly about art as an investment.
We're back on our bullshit with a normal schedule. What is it again? Yeah, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays 6 to 8 pm Central. At twitch.tv/null_convention right? Yeah, again, it's the same as usual. What is this thing, milk outside a bag of milk? It seems strange. I like it. Let's play it, okay?
Hey everyone, this is gonna be the finale for Slay the Princess and, to be honest, I have absolutely no idea how it's supposed to resolve from here, I have no idea how long the ending is so we set the whole stream aside for it and after that we'll chill and chat.
I don't really have a lot of steam in me this morning but it looks like the Minecraft gods have taken pity on me, bestowing me with a good amount of iron, redstone, and even three diamonds. Here is a small mine section with this mineral bounty.
It can be a bit hard to tell from here, but this is an overhead look at the slice of the layer where I'm positioned almost perfectly above the slime generating cages in the dungeon we discovered earlier.
Welcome to Minecraft Monday (Monday). I have once again Had A Week and because the vet cancelled last week and our kitty is feeling unwell still, we're taking him in this afternoon. This is very important and maybe expensive. But that's nearly a full workday away so we found diamonds in the mine.
Bullrush grows super quick. It does create building material that isn't super sturdy but at least it can be farmed and replaced and built up on quickly. It also looks kinda nice.
Really pretty though, huh? Here's the jacaranda tree grown - a single tree results in quite a lot of lumber. These, I think, want two saplings placed right next to each other to begin to grow.
The other? Jacaranda trees. This is a sapling we recovered from our expedition. While there were other wonderful trees to check out, even one of these was enough to utterly annihilate our stone axe and so we only had some lumber and saplings to show for ourselves, but it was quite enough.
Welcome to Minecraft Sundays, with Null. As a result of the expedition last night (pictures to come) we didn't bring back a LOT that was new but there are two interesting additions we didn't have before! The first are bullrushes! I don't quite know how useful they'll be but we can plant them!
I've got Doki Doki Lit Club, Mouthwashing, and Conscript on my wishlist on Steam and they're both in the single digit dollar amounts on sale - if I were going to buy ONE of these for streaming later, which one would you go with?
At this point, you'll see in a little bit how I'm pretty much just going to start plotting out spaces without building whole rooms in order to get the layout secure. The second story observation room is going to be pretty large. Quarantine, ready room, etc.
A fairly large % of the buildings are just spaces that allow you to change your direction. Hallways, atrium, gathering spaces, waiting and check-in rooms.
Good morning and welcome to Minecraft Friday Morning. Today we had to start with a trip back to the Complex but fortunately our stocking up on materials has been practical and comes to immediate fruition. I'm taking this sack of material and more back to the site.
Okay, looks like my upload speed's been consistently decent so I'm going to say that unless something changes, we're good to stream today! Yay! Stray - Thurs and Sat this week, 6-8 PM Central Time at twitch.tv/nullconvention okay? Okay.
Yeah actually this looks perfect - the areas where the ceiling and stairs are uneven or different parts of the ceiling are uneven will get andersite edging to bring them together but that's a finishing material I'll have to go get.
Installing ceilings under the stairs and in the bottom half of the room to create even textures and finish the work up. I'll do some inset lights on the bottom of the stairs to ensure there's no missing areas where monsters spawn. And cause it looks good.
Our merchant friend has been given appropriate security clearance and is a designated contract with our laboratory. Welcome to the team.
Running out of etched stone, which is expected. This'll probably be all when I run out of the build material on this bit. Ran ourselves out of stone tile, too. So far so good!
We're building the meeting room slash hallway here where it should be directing people in one direction to get equipped and briefed, whatever. The other is the return from quarantine infirmary.
I have all six furnaces going full blast whenever I stop back at the Complex so I pick up six full stacks of stone, store 4, turn 2 into stone pillar, then fire 6 more deepslate and cobble. Here the pillar is installed fully and the stairwell's top half is fully complete.
I ran out of some of the key materials I need to keep building, so I'll get more. Couldn't happen at a better time when these numbskulls show their faces. Frost pillagers or something? Not my problem.
Installing the lights on chains, we have good coverage and height, I like the way these look here and they're visible in the windows which isn't important but feels like a nice touch.
Where these stairs touch tile, I decide to go back to form - there's another case I need to do this with, incidentally, and set in some pavers to increase traction, adding safe footing to the hand rails on the side. On the left, before pavers, and to the right you can see some with pavers added.
Part of why this looks a little strange - and it'll look fine when it's complete - is that this has to be covered up with blank stone which we'll do here. In some places, we've build over the bottom creating overhangs in the structure. This creates a small lip instead.
Good mornin everyone, it's Minecraft. Thursdays. Here we've got the wall that's been pushed out a bit from our original projections set up to be adjacent the next room here. This merchant seems to have pretty good selection but I have no emeralds here so it's tough luck for both of us.
Here you can see that pushing this wall out lets me build the connecting interior wall and it gives the stairs plenty of room to breathe in the space, which I like. However you see, it causes the building to form a lip in a narrow stretch and we'll cover that with blank stone as before.
