Just got the parts today for Challenger STS-41-B and two shuttle launched satellites.
Been on a roll with Endeavor payloads today made STS 57 EURECA satellite recovery, STS 67 ASTRO-2 Telescope, and STS 88 first ISS mission. Probably going to go with STS-88 but I do really like how much is going on with STS-57.
Challenger and Atlantis. Atlantis is rocking STS 37 with the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory.
Space Shuttle Grumman Beam Builder and the EDO Pallet. Learned about the beam builder concept a bit ago and threw together a design for it. Absolutely love how it turned out. Article on the Grumman Beam Builder www.thespacereview.com/article/5027/1
41-G is all my design. I really liked the ERBS satellite and how much is in the payload bay on this one. The other payloads aren't as interesting to me though. One is an in orbit satellite refueling test and a folding radar. Will be displaying the ERBS with some other shuttle payloads I've made.
41-C is all from Brickspace. I would like to revisit it at some point and modify the LDEF to be longer and still fit in the payload bay but look right when outside of the bay with some removable parts. My favorite part of this one is the Solar Maximum satellite and its cradle.
41-B is mostly designed by Brickspace from Patreon but I modified it a bit to make the commercial satellite launchers match IRL a bit closer. This is ultimately the one I'm going with for Challenger. The commercial launchers are really neat and after the disaster they didn't launch any more.
Planning on getting every Space Shuttle in Lego currently have Columbia and Challenger. Was working on some potential payloads for Challenger. STS 41-B, STS 41-C, and STS 41-G At the moment Challenger is done up as STS-6 but was a bit too plain looking for my taste.
Been doing a little bit of light reading recently. Just finished Challenger this week and started on Comm Check.
Makes me sad the KCS FP9s are likely getting redone. One of my favorite liveries.
I've picked up a few older neat sets from B&M the past couple weeks which has been really cool. ISS set from 2003 Lil Satellite set I thought was neat looking from 1999 Space shuttle from 2015
Neat new release from Walthers. Price is on the high end for me. $55 for the SRB flat cars and $45 for the clearance/buffer cars. A 5 car train would be $245. Found some 3d print files for these a while ago might be an idea to 3d print the clearance cars and buy some booster cars but who knows.
Lego Columbia and Buran Columbia with it's STS 109 payload which it serviced the Hubble Telescope. Buran with a Mir Core Module
Columbia payload done up for STS 109 it's Hubble service mission. Also did some work on the tail to add the SILTS pod and additional black heat tiles.
Made a Mir Core module for Buran. Used a KSP mod for colors as it's not super easy to make out from photos.
Just got parts for the vertical stand finally. Columbia and Buran. Have parts for STS 109 payload which was Columbia's visit to Hubble. Would like to make a Mir Core Module for Buran as well as a payload.
I have been playing KSP a bit recently. Doing a bit of wishcasting.
Found a moc on rebrickable to modify one of the Lego Discovery sets into a Buran and I am tempted lmao. Would look really cool next to the Columbia I am working on.
Couple lego projects underway. Just finished up this USS Voyager from Rebrickable and most of the way through converting my Lego Discovery into Columbia (my favorite shuttle) just waiting on stickers now. Made a new stand for it as well that is more vertical.
Released: Frisco Kansas City Florida Special another long train with 17 cars this time around. Had a lot of fun making all the pooled cars from the Southern and the express boxcars. Go subscribe and give it a like #CitiesSkylines steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/...
Have a reason to use the library 3d printer now. Doesn't match my era at all but been feeling some cool NASA stuff since Artemis 2. Next step is figuring out how to source the decals. www.printables.com/model/710482...
Finally don't hate a site from the royals. Still not a fan of the public funding they're getting but at least the location finally isn't awful. Adding onto an existing entertainment district rather than try to add another one is way better as well. www.royalsreview.com/kansas-city-...
Hell yeah, I just got two IHC domes for Frisco a bit ago. Not prototypical for Frisco but I don't care domes are neat. Especially the pleasure domes with the more angular shaped dome.
I prefer the Blackbird scheme personally. I tend to like those earlier diesel schemes better, same with Frisco. I much prefer the black and yellow to the mandarin orange.
Got an N scale set at the show today. Need to get some track for it to set up a loop now.
Released: Republic City Streetcar Co Streetcar Incline. Based off the Mt Adams incline in Cincinnati I really enjoyed learning about this gem of transit. Go subscribe and give it a like #CitiesSkylines steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/...
It's way denser than I was planning but I am really enjoying it. Honestly need more railroads and interurbans lol. #CitiesSkylines
