Survey link I received. @tomperriello.bsky.social campaign ought to be aware of this.
John McGuire is deceptively using a nasty push poll to test out lines of attack against Tom Perriello. The anti-George Soros stuff is particularly despicable. (The survey link is on opinions-survey.com.)
Delighted to cast my vote for @tomperriello.bsky.social for the Democratic nominee for the 5th District today! Love the convenience of Virginia’s early voting - in and out in under 5 minutes!
No better person to give the commencement address than the 🐐, Professor Brian Murchison!
Congratulations to @wlulaw.bsky.social Class of 2026 on your graduation!! It’s been such an honor and a privilege to teach and learn from you over the last three years. Wishing you every success!
Featured guest speakers are Heidi Gilman Bennett of Family Council and at-large representative Allison Spillman on the Albemarle County School Board

From my empirical study of Section 2 litigation (forthcoming Florida State University Law Review) - over 80% of Section 2 challenges since 1982 involved local government.
The end of an era…. Our beloved colleague Brian Murchison on his final day of teaching after 44 years as a faculty member at @wlulaw.bsky.social! Faculty, staff, students and alumni lined the hallways of Lewis Hall for our traditional “clap out” in his honor.
Apparently Justice Thomas missed the day in school when they taught about the Progressive Era. It’s like he’s never heard of Robert M. La Follette, William Jennings Bryan, Ida Tarbell, Lincoln Steffens, or the Bull Moose Party.
A sad day at @wlulaw.bsky.social. Doug Rendleman was one of a kind—a rigorous and prolific scholar, a dedicated teacher and mentor to his students, and an influential figure in the world of remedies. My sympathies and condolences to Carol, Doug’s spouse of 65 years, and the entire Rendleman family.
Can’t find the ad on YouTube anymore but here’s a screen clip. It was truly bonkers.
NEW: District court grants summary judgment and permanent injunction in King v. O'Brien, which challenged disenfranchisement here in Virginia for persons convicted of "felonies at common law" as violating the Virginia Readmission Act of 1870. Huge news! www.scribd.com/document/985...
Great turnout for the 10th annual MLK Day Parade in Lexington despite chilly weather! Grateful for for organizers at CARE Rockbridge.
But this stuck in my craw — Youngkin is still touting banning mask mandates in early 2022 when the pandemic was at its height and thousands were dying from COVID. He completely omitted that a federal court enjoined its enforcement against vulnerable students w/severe health conditions that…
Some more info from WaPo here on two other UVA BoV members who Spanberger asked to resign. Doug Wetmore should be fired if he doesn’t step down; he’s one of Youngkin’s stooges who targeted anything related to diversity and inclusion. www.cavalierdaily.com/article/2025...
These headlines are 💯 accurate five years later, despite the current administration’s attempts to rewrite history.
Also, there are a *lot* of billable hours for Thursday, June 26, which is the day Jim Ryan said he was purportedly given an ultimatum to resign or DOJ would “rain hell on UVA” (he submitted his resignation that afternoon).
