BobTec: By far the prettiest and most colourful of the tripod fish we see here on cozumel. Sometimes called a blackfin spiderfish but we now call the rainbow tripod fish Bathypterois phena is without doubt our favourite. @frida.yolotzin posted one a couple of years ago which quickly became the most viewed tripod fish in internet history.@cnn reposted it and the rest is history.

Churches continue to cover for pedophiles. This one for over 20 years. Girls under the age of 13. Pressuring victims to forgive and forget. And the police said it's fine to keep it private if it's between the preacher and the pedophile. Why is that okay?

I wish we could educate people instead. I've been posting this info about Claude Steiner's work on Transactional Analysis. He uses "Pig Parent," & while it fits the occasion, maybe there's another way to do it since pigs don't deserve to be caught up in this. This is "The Child" parenting.

In the book Scripts People Live, Claude Steiner identified ego states we use to interact with each other as The Adult, The Parent, and The Child.

Many of us would naturally think of The Parent as being the nurturing side of a person, and they would be right. That’s Steiner’s definition of our primary Parent.

It’s The Child’s Parent, which Steiner also calls The Pig Parent, which is identified as the oppressive part of human nature—the part of a person who wants to take things away from other people or force people to do things they don’t normally want to do.

The Child Parent has a distorted perception of the function of parenting. They “‘protect’ people from (things that do) not do them harm or even from (things that are) good for them...and that kind of protection is oppressive.” [Steiner, 90]

This is part of the nature of humanity, a big part of the problems we face today. People are trying to parent other people without knowing how to parent, using the kind of parenting a child would use.

CHAPTER THREE | THE BEAST
SPIRIT
IT WAS TIME FOR A CHANGE OF GUARD. My co-worker joined me at
the door.
“It’s quiet,” I said. “I’m going to see if I need to complete any training.”
I walked through the fragrance and jewelry departments just to make sure no one snuck in while my back was turned. Then I zigzagged through the Common Area, down the hall past the manager’s offices, and around the corner that led to Asset Protection.
As soon as I stepped into the office, my phone rang. I looked at the area
code: 509. Eastern Washington. My father had been in and out of the hospital for nearly six months after he and my mother had taken a fall.
I could hear crying in the background. One of my sisters told me that our
father had passed. We talked for a couple of minutes, then I hung up, trying to figure out what to do.
I walked out to the floor and told my co-worker. My emotions began to
erupt, but I managed to choke a few more words out, “I think I need to go
home.”

My father died November 1st. A couple of days later I saw a post about the Day of the Dead.
I remembered thinking I was happy he didn’t pass on Halloween because
I’ve never really liked the holiday. Especially the skeletons. I’ve always tried to avoid Day of the Dead celebrations for the same reason, but also because there wasn’t any connection to my history. Our family was largely Celtic.
Then a friend shared a post about Samhain.
