Sunset tonight

Maybe! Here’s the only yellow aphid I could find without black legs. But his eyes look much bigger than this one’s.

No this little guy is no bigger than the tip of a magic marker. Here’s a blurry picture of him when I first saw him. He almost looks like a teeny tiny grasshopper here, like several of him would fit on my fingertip.

A tiny insect visitor kept me company while I was sitting in a parking lot The woman who parked too close to me scared him off. I can’t find him on the Internet. Anyone know what he might be? #insectidentification

I was kind of bummed because I saw other people’s pictures with the twins, but I actually did get all four. Venus, Jupiter, Castor, and Pollux. ☺️

I didn’t get a chance to get my good camera out, but I snapped a couple of pictures of Venus and Jupiter tonight on the iPhone. Beautiful clear night.

Bought the Barnes & Noble e-book version of @ahjohnson.bsky.social’s new ‘How to Sell a Genocide’. Followed him from the start on Twitter and it’s his fault I stayed there too long. Judging by his work at the Intercept, I expect a meticulous laying out of receipts. Very pleased for you, Adam.

National treasure Dolly Parton let fans on IG know she has some health problems but doctors assure her that everything can be treated. As usual, she was utterly charming and funny. She stays busy but can’t do live performances because some of her medications make her “swimmy headed”. ❤️

Already a tough year for losing the greats. My favorite role of Robert DuVall’s was as Augustus McRae in Lonesome Dove. It’s rare to see onscreen chemistry like he had with Tommy Lee Jones. It was like they were pulled straight from the book. Guess it’s time to watch again. #filmsky

Forgot to post this last night. On the way to look at Christmas lights, pulled over to take a shot of the sunset. It looked like a fire beyond the trees.

St. Louis is famous for gooey butter cake, but there are variations, and I love gooey butter cake like they make at Park Avenue Coffee and don’t really care for the versions that are thick and soft, but not really gooey. But what beats them all is a gooey butter cookie.
