It's April! I will not be participating in the discourse this year. But please be aware that I'm here, autistic af and last year I edited a reprint collection celebrating @reckoningmag.bsky.social's neurodivergent contributors. (cover art@abistevensart.bsky.social) reckoning.press/a-chorus-div...
My modest but meaningful #AWP26 haul. Always delighted to pick up another beautiful hardcover from @milkweededitions.bsky.social and to have snagged some work by my fellow staff members.
Cuteness from my brother's yard. We've had a number of spring births. The lamb in the third photo was born with some tendon issues and was refused by his mum. He is currently being bottle fed and rehabbed by my mother and SIL. My brother named him Biscuit. Limp Biscuit. These are rescue animals.
It is a gorgeous morning for sitting on the porch surrounded by trees and reading submissions. (We're on the second floor; it feels like a tree house). Bonus pic of yesterday's beautiful strawberries.
Proof of life! Still mad about...well everything...but I'ma thrive out of autistic spite. Join me. :)
For reference, this was my furbrother Duke and he was absolutely the goofiest, most loving, ride or die pooch to ever pooch. (like all the best pups out there)
AuDHD lady's first noise canceling earmuffs. I am very happy and a little blurry maybe? I do not have my glasses on lol
Every time someone asks why I hate Santa Claus (not to be confused with Father Christmas who is great) I point this movie and the pedophile uncle who always dressed up as Santa at my grandparents' house for Christmas.
My first capture of the illusive swamp rainbow. Not the first I've seen, but the first I've gotten proof of. :D Pretty darn excited. May plaster it on every social media. Print it out for a holiday card, idk lol
For those keeping count, in the past two days I have: -failed my saving throw against faulty string lights -burned my thumb -knocked a cookie tin down on my head from the top of the pantry. I did catch it before it hit the floor, but...poor thing never stood a chance.
Had a lovely day finishing up an embroidery project that I'm really proud of and listening to author Amy Tan's Masterclass. I think I finally truly internalized two of the most important lessons regarding writing. 1. Trust the process. 2. Nothing is perfect; that doesn't mean it can't be beautiful.
Wishing you all a wonderful October! I'll be woods-wandering until further notice. Stay tuned for lovely pictures and probably too many selfies with yellow leaves. <3
