I'm sure some of the hate is because of that but at least a portion of the Newsom hate is surely unrelated to his podcasts guests and what they said on his podcast. At least SOME of it absolutely MUST come from the fact that this picture of him posing ostentatiously with Kimberly Guilfoyle exists.
Also, (spoilers for VisionQuest but this in right in the first trailer...) it's arguably extra EXTRA hilarious because of this:
This image made me think of a similar image and the notion of, "Why don't the Canadians simply put the forest fires out?". The forest:
Technically, it showed that three Falkland Islanders didn't want the islands to remain a British overseas territory. At least one of those three voters later publicly clarified though that he didn't want the Islands to become part of Argentina, he wanted them to become independent.
The main problem I see for the federal NDP right now is that the things that have NDP supporters most upset (building new pipelines and increased military spending) have consistently polled at >60% approval for over a decade now, whereas the NDP hasn't gotten over 20% in a poll since December, 2024.
There's where we differ, I guess, because personally I think that even a minority government led by Prime Minister Poilievre would represent an existential threat to Canada. That said, every seat projection I've seen since March predicts that the WORST case for the Liberals is a 3-7 seat majority .
Because of the way the Iines broke in my feed it looked like his title had been changed to, "Nuclear War Pope", as though we're already living in the midst of it.
The Oxford Canadian Dictionary has been around since *1998*. Has anyone asked the Prime Minister directly WHY he insists on using British spelling instead of Canadian spelling?
And as I'm sure you know... ... at least one prominent Conservative politician actually did a WORSE job picking an outfit for the Calgary Stampede in recent Canadian history.
It's genuinely hilarious to me how often conservative politicians in Canada fail, utterly, to pull off something so relatively simple.
Also, the Conservatives really need to fire whichever stylist is choosing their leaders' Calgary Stampede outfits. (And possibly hire whichever stylist has been doing it for the Liberals).
Yup. It's the top-grossing bio pic about a musician of all time and it's currently the second highest-grossing movie of 2026 (so far).
The robots think it was in April (and to be fair, that first image links to a story on DC's homepage about their preparations to celebrate Superman Day on April 18, 2026).
They're wearing their reds today but if you're wondering about Canada's black jerseys with the ice motif on them later, they're a nod to the qualifying round victory of Canada over Mexico - a snow-covered match that led to fans nicknaming Commonwealth Stadium "Estadio Iceteca" after Estadio Azteca.
Am I missing, or mis-reading, something? The text of the article says that, "the share of Canadians who say we should seriously consider joining the European Union stands at 48%" but then the graph shows 22% saying definitely consider and 28% saying probably consider, which adds to 50%, not 48%.
FWIW, here was JLo's fuller take (seems to me as though the Mayor does not meet JLo's bar for "New Yorker" at any rate, at least, not as she expressed it on, "Subway Takes"). www.nytimes.com/2026/06/05/n...
I think it's at least partly people not realizing that you started your posts by agreeing with JLo that people who weren't born in NYC "aren't New Yorkers", NOT by agreeing with that poster who claimed that his NYC neighbourhood being gentrified was like a settlement being built in the West Bank.
TECHNICALLY they weren't removed from the DoD list of religions, they just weren't labelled as a Christian denomination on that list the way that, say, the Catholics and the Jehovah's Witnesses were (which makes the whole thing even funnier imho, tbh).
Nothing wrong with a character looking "average" but not only does this character look quite beautiful but she's also based on and played by Deborah Ann Woll, who IS 41 years old but... I'm very confident she's never been called "average" in a context like this by anyone in the entire solar system.
