Even if you only look at votes cast and not general favorability, Sanders still did far, far, far better than the candidates it is supposedly “funny” to say underperformed b/c of lacking Black support while omitting Sanders. Buttigieg & Warren are an order of magnitude worse w/ that group of voters

I didn’t say otherwise. But Warren and Buttigieg do genuinely standout for having very poor poll numbers. It’s not “funny” to use them as examples and exclude Sanders, when Sanders does not poll especially poorly with Black voters. intel.morningconsult.com/mc-content/a...
As I’ve said before, Platner’s numbers with noncollege voters aren’t phenomenal — they are certainly not a group he’ll win in November — but they have not really plummeted since the New York Times piece or other bit of reportage. He’s doing about as well as he was earlier, or at least w/in the MoE

There's something so crass about using the Federalist Papers to argue for a unitary executive able to dismiss any member of the executive branch at will (except for the Fed), when Hamilton wrote in Federalist No. 77 that the Senate's consent will be "necessary to displace as well as to appoint."
Obviously the above chart doesn't include a counterfactual synthetic-NYC. But the rent freeze was during the major upward swing in housing units produced in the late 2010s. And once you account for the tax credit expirations in 2015 and 2022, it looks like permits weren't really affected either.

This is the kind of venue Platner was speaking at during the primary campaign. Maybe a dozen people, including a couple journalists and a local candidate, in a town with less than a thousand people.

Very minor correction: the Times article very specifically says the violence was not corroborated by her records. (The overall point is still obviously true and correct!)
Fifield is a Republican operative, but this explanation pretty much matches what I’ve believed for months: Platner probably always knew or knew for a long time about the symbol’s origins, but got it (& didn’t remove it) for Marines related reasons, not because he was some secret national socialist.
The Reddit comments where he describes the evils of fascism that I’ve been discussing were from an ~anonymous account and date back almost a decade. They’re not “exculpatory statements” made to save his campaign.
