Coping mechanism flywheel, compulsive reinterpretrix, acquired taste.
For misogynists, any instance of a woman capitalizing on her beauty is further evidence that beauty is all that the woman has to offer. A woman can't possibly be beautiful and intelligent at the same time! By the way you've been hanging in my bathroom for 15 years or so. Cheers!
June is Lavender and Daisy month in my part of Oregon, and the plants I put in two Autumns ago are finally mature and attracting new neighbors. Victory!
Finished the poppy! Now to find time to do more! This blazer is gonna be a long-term project. #embroidery
If you need someone to lead the support group I might know a guy.
Poppy Progress. I'm really happy with how it's coming along! In between this and my last project reading glasses became a requirement. Less psyched about that. But let's focus on the poppy! #embroidery
Pocket Poppy Progress. Finally unblocked myself and started a new embroidery project. The first flower of what will hopefully be a very cluttered blazer.
Calvin looks just like my Hazel. My sympathies. Looks like he had a wonderful life!
@pattonoswalt.bsky.social you're still telling that joke? Here's a photo of my soon-to-be husband unsheathing his Oswalt-inspired wedding gift from yours truly. We just celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary in October.

Me introducing my kids to Looney Toons, scrolling Bluesky and seeing this... To be fair, it's an important part of the cultural canon.
Hey the world is upside down, but I was reading Bill Bryson's "The Body: A Guide for Occupants" where he mentioned that "epididymis" is from the Greek word for "testicle" and my brain went here. Please enjoy my chaotic train of thought.
The world is chaos, but in my back yard I have cherry blossoms 🌸 and my ukulele.
...and, unrelatedly, here's my late cat Frankenstein, whom I am reminded of every time you post your patchy tabby.
It was much lighter here in Eugene, but the wind was still LOUD. Hazel was concerned enough to become a meerkat.
