@somecallmejohnny.com @blazehenry1.bsky.social hey look who arrived! (I don’t know about that 4th one it’s a stowaway help.)
The paradox of America in 2025. The king who’s an incompetent dictator. A Used car salesmen and a damn good Nazi. With the spineless and the corrupt running or trying to amass wealth throughout all this. If God is a writer, dude can’t write constantly for shit.
So… had a random bout of inspiration and anger thanks to a video essay I watched. And thus, some of my first poetry in years. #poetry special s/o to @ellipsus.com for being good to use and not training a.i. on my shit. Lol.
Side note, don’t know why this cover makes it look like a Piranha ripoff but it fits.
One of my favorite examples will always be that “Humanoids From the Deep” a b-movie in the truest sense about mutant fish men looking to repopulate by any means necessary (yes that goes where you think it does) was co-directed by a woman. Barbara Peeters.
You’d be amazing how much this lyric pops into my head every time people like this show up. Censored for those who don’t wanna see certain words.
Not gonna lie have no idea where this is from. Found it one day and kept it. If anyone knows the source or if it’s AI please let me know.
Honestly add a little bit of chili flakes and some other spices on there and you basically made deconstructed Molé.
So… not an Ice Nine Kills fan but, is this them trying to be edgy? Or is this just them being legitimate assholes? Either way, wrong subject to reveal that boys. Just saying?
So #NowWatching “The Ugly Stepsister” on @shudder.com and the thing I’ve been saying the most is “oh sweetie no!” #horrorsky
If I could afford it, I’d get a replica of the Big Gold Belt. I think that, the 10 pounds of Gold and Original IWGP Intercontinental Title are ones I would love to have.
25. Jackie Brown (1997) Yeah yeah. Shocker there’s a Tarantino film on my list. But hell I love the performances in this movie, it’s a weirdly simple movie but I’ll be damned if I don’t enjoy this one. Also soundtrack bops, it’s an underrated soundtrack.
24. The Night is Short, Walk on Girl (2017) This one is just colorful and fun. Simple sweet but also fluid and kind of trippy. It’s perfect for me.
23. The Last Dragon (1985) Listen 80’s Motown is cheesy as all hell and so is this movie. But GOD DAMN is it fun.
22. Phantasm (1979) If you saw Hausu and said, I need something that makes slightly more sense, here’s your movie. Keep in mind I said SLIGHTLY. Also R.I.P. Angus Scrimm.
21. Next of Kin (1982) Another ‘82 movie. Huh. Anyway this Aussie horror flick is a recent discovery and man it’s damn creepy. If you watched Haunting and loved it, this one should be next on your list.
20. First Blood (1982) Probably not the first one with this observation, but man it’s weirdly funny watching this with the sequels in mind. Still a damn good movie.
19. Wayne’s World (1992) This and Blues Brothers are some of the only SNL movies that honestly work for me. That’s a formula I still haven’t figured how we haven’t truly gotten any more good movies out of. (Roxbury is the closest.)
18. In the Mood for Love (2000) By god if you want beautifully depressing and heartbreaking moments, this one’s got you covered. God damn my heart hurts just thinking about it.
17. The Crow (1994) No. I’m not putting this here to just to attract goth girls. It just so happens that them and I agree that this movie is damn good.
16. The Haunting (1963) Honestly if you want to talk horror not being just “jump scares and gore” watch this movie. It’s perfectly tense and creepy.
15. F For Fake (1973) I recommend this movie if you’re having a serious case of imposter syndrome. It’s a great case against by way of “you’re a fraud? In a different light, everyone is! So fuck it, make art!”
