Why do currants have so many hyper specific bugs that live to destroy them?! Blister aphids, stink bugs, currant sawfly (caterpillars of it pictured below), currant fruit flies…why does my currant bush’s milkshake bring all the bugs to the yard?! I’ve become the Johnny Appleseed of ladybugs ffs

I have to keep reminding myself that the door didn’t so much slam shut in my face as much as it dissolved out of existence, leaving me holding a rusty door handle as a momento of what could have been (and can maybe be again).
There is something darkly comedic about leveling up my art skills to the point I’m finally starting to not feel like a hack while simultaneously watching my career field turn to dust around me.
