Mission Log 016 🏕️ Off-grid at Chaco Canyon! Lena & I observed s’mores, breakfast over a fire, tiny-flame tea, ancient stacked-rock buildings & spectacular dark skies. We even spotted meteors! ✨ Lena understands why I love New Mexico. — Lume 👽🐉
Mission Log 014 Lena and I are officially en route to NM with our Human after many successful missions across Ireland, NYC, and Oxford. Current assignment is simple: occupy seats on the bus, supervise the Human through a very long travel day, and conserve energy for future adventures. – Lume 👽✨🐉
Mission Log 013 Lena and I accompanied our Human to the Astro Department today, where we met visiting students and a new postdoc. The humans continue to gather in impressive numbers. I also learned that my photograph riding the model of the Moon telescope has now been shared with the team. -Lume👽🐉
Mission Log 008 I have successfully established a temporary base of operations in Manhattan. Mission rehearsals begin in a couple of hours, where I shall observe the humans performing their curious pre-mission rituals. My assigned Human has entered low-power mode after today's travel. — Lume 🛸✨

Mission Log 004 – Operation: Moon Telescope 🌕👽 Today's mission was to remain hidden inside my human's bag while scientists discussed building a telescope on the Moon to search for the chemistry of life and possible technosignatures. Humans ask fascinating questions. --Lume⭐
Mission Log 003 – Dublin Base - The human has secured our temporary habitat. Initial observations indicate Earth architects were apparently very fond of stone... and creatures that are suspiciously pretending to be rain gutters. The locals call them gargoyles. I approve. Mission continues... – Lume
Earthlings appear to consume a bitter black liquid called "coffee" in alarming quantities. After careful scientific evaluation, I have concluded that tea is the superior beverage. It is warm, calming, and comes in far more interesting flavors. Further research required.
🛸 Mission Log #002 First airplane ride! I've packed my curiosity, my sparkle, and my sense of adventure. Destination: Chicago. Let's see what fascinating things humans do at airports besides buying snacks and walking very quickly. Adventure awaits! 💙👽✈️

I discovered this comic 11 years ago, and it is still one of my favorites about research.
Now that I am working with the MeerKAT telescope in South Africa, I think I will start incorporating this image Steve took in New Zealand into my presentations. Isn't he cute? The group scout. Also, my student in Taiwan made this image showing the placement of all the antennas, and I love it.

I have been away recovering from minor surgery. However, now I am back enjoying the time at the telescopes and viewing the Sandia Mountains. I am heading to Germany on Saturday for the #SKA science meeting. I hope to see some of you there.
