I’ve been kicking around this one pager idea in my head for a while - super inspired by @rpdeshaies.farirpgs.com Voidlight and @claymorerpgs.bsky.social StarNet. I think it’s gonna go through some more changes after this first draft but I’m really excited to get it to the table.

Got some film back from when @ryanzenith.bsky.social and I were exploring random areas around the convention center on a break at Gamehole Con and a shop near our AirB&B that had a sick sign. This film stock (Phoenix II 200) is pretty wonderful.

One of the most iconic bits of Chicago. And a top #photo for me. Late night shots with Cinestill are fun but this photo really nails so many elements. The colors, the halations, the blur and the streetlight illuminating the side of the elevated train tracks.

This gives players a lot of agency. They can get someone to Do My Dirty Work more effectively if they risk reprisal, but that's a potential promise for the GM to bring some consequence on them in the future. All these things get players thinking ahead and scheming. Just like we planned...

Do My Dirty Work
When you talk someone beneath you into doing your dirty work, roll with
the questions:
▶ Do you meet in a place where you can speak openly? ▶ Are you willing to risk a reprisal from them?
▶ Do you blackmail them with a Secret?
On a hit, your dirty work is done.
On a 12+, they take the fall.
On a 10+, your hands are clean.
On a 7-9, people are suspicious, you’ll need to clean this up.
-1 Reputation.
On a miss, your dirty work goes spectacularly awry and you are exposed.

In the one shot you can see @jessebmiller.bsky.social throw himself straight into our version of these prompts from early on. As the game goes on there's clearly a goal behind it and in the clip you can see that goal realized as he uses the move Burn a Bond to betray a close ally with his Influence.

The move from Vesta Mandate:
Burn Your Bond
When you betray someone with whom you have a Bond, through well laid
plans, roll with the questions. Your Bond immediately becomes a Schism.
▶ Were you plotting to turn on them all along?
▶ Are you willing to risk a lifetime of guilt?
▶ Do you use one of your Bond’s Secrets against them?
On a hit, narrate your plot step by step. On a 10+ pick two. On a 7-9,
pick one.
▶ Change the outcome of a Council vote.
▶ -3 Reputation between a Council member and one Faction.
▶ Find a Secret about one person or Faction.

Baked Japanese sweet potatoes. There's a Korean store not far from me that has a little oven+warming drawer that just always has baked sweet potatoes for like a dollar. Perfect size for snacking.

Someone asked about old Metra trains on the photo I posted a while back, so here’s this photo from in one of the older style! I walked into one of the trains at Ogilvie before it had many people on it and the lighting was just perfect. Definitely a favorite photo color-wise.

I'm using Obsidian Canvas' and Base's for the first time to this extent and its very nice. I can create and write all the details for Skills in the spreadsheet style Base, then lay them out and visualize the connections in the Canvas using the same linked file. (This is just Sorcerer stuff so far)

Hmmm.. Looking back through some of my old work and I think this might be one of my top 5 favorite photos I've taken. Love the composition SO much. The person walked into frame at the perfect time way down at the end. And the colors are just so great. Plus the bottle up on the ledge? *mwah*
