Funny things you learn while editing that you still probably don't want to put in your book. (Probably.)
Last week, my players: What if we kidnap the Pontiff? This week's reading material:
Empty bar game writing. Spent each Tuesday evening this whole year in this bar while the kiddo was in dance class. But she's off to her grandparents for the month, now hashtag sad dad (at least suppression makes me more productive, lmao)
This one-shot of Fatherfog, we played a twisted version of Pinocchio. Half the party died, we had no idea how it all came to be, but we saved the family member who went missing.
Starting from Aug/Sept, I'll be taking more editing work! I've edited lots of Mothership zines, and a couple PANIC Engine games. I'm also very familiar with Mark of the Odd games, e.g. Liminal Horror, ECOMOFOS, Cairn, etc. Contact me here or on Discord. Some of the projects I've worked on:
I think that's a wrap on Flatline on the Blocks. Once any lingering color/proofing issues are sorted, it's print time. Big thanks to all the Azimuth Warriors, and special thanks to @scragend.bsky.social and @queerwizard.co.uk for pumping out SO MUCH art for this 56pg zine
Backrooms are a negadungeon. There's zero reason to go inside. Here's level 1. Good night.
Ha, I also found this one in a little free library, years ago. I barely remember anything about the collection, which isn't a great endorsement, haha
I love writing one-shot material for Mothership. And yes, I'm writing in layout, but it's OK, it's just a pamphlet.
Ansible Uplink is a bi-weekly podcast where I invite a different indie ttrpg creator on to review a sci-fi adventure module. As mentioned on the show (but never on bsky), if folks have questions about sci-fi roleplaying or adventure design, you can drop them here for the show, :)
Most days for at least 30 minutes, I am Link, accompanied by an all-powerful star warrior princess who saves my useless ass all the time.
In today's adventure design news, @queerwizard.co.uk saves my ass by taking on some last minute cartography for Flatline. Or well, for her sister zine, Organ Failure.
Since this post is making a bit of a wave, I wrote When in Rome, and you can get it here as part of the Typhoon Sinlaku Relief TTRPG Bundle: itch.io/b/3670/typho...
I ran Mothership at Octogônes, a French tabletop con over the weekend! Last minute opened a table, and got four folk right away. They said I translated on the fly very well, hah, friendly fellas and great players. Also got to chat with @arkhaneasylum.bsky.social about the official translation 👀
