I had the poster of the above Blue Note album cover (v diff colors, tho... CD reissue Vol. 1) but it was years before I saw this "Vol. 3" cover from '54
I can't find images from the studio, but here's the same band playing our set in Bklyn before traveling
#WolffatLPA "Nyman claims ('Experimental Music', ibid.) that Wolff first used his shorthand notation in a piece he wrote for himself and Frederic Rzewski in 1956, but I have found no work by Wolff dating from that year which fits Nyman's description." Here y'ah go
The Kozmo reference hit hard! I got to NYC in '97, had temp jobs on trading floors when everything-dot-com went public, and Kozmo was killing it.
326 & 328 Monroe Street, Manhattan, 1939/40. John Cage & Morton Feldman lived in 326 in the early 50s. All of this was destroyed. I think we're looking north (power plant smoke stacks at 13th/14th St) which would mea the house is 326. Any Cage nerds can correct me! #WolffatLPA
The asshole in chief makes“gold” ornaments look like Vecna’s vines.
THIS should be the plan. I'm glad the #InterboroughExpress is happening but... the line goes into the Bronx, yo! Spend the money!
Making my way thru "Blindspot" (terrible dialog, improbable scenarios, etc.) and loving the Navy Yard/Wallabout locations, including outside the 1830's Navy Yard hospital. My old nabe! Worth wading through the torpor... (in the pic, the #NavalCemeteryLandscape)
I so wish the Brooklyn Philharmonic was still around. I've researched the Bklyn Community Concerts from the late 70s/80s & the CETA Orch from the same period and we NEED it. h/t to Alan Pierson for kicking off his tenor with this one. www.nytimes.com/2011/10/10/a...
