Former cult member turned academic researcher, writer, YouTuber and podcaster. Three most important words ever: I don't know. My most important life lesson: It's chaos; be kind.
There are evil people in the world. Right now they are at the top. This is not permanent but it is very difficult to endure. Be strong and fight the good fight. Don't be a dick. Don't be violent. Just be a good person. Evil people really hate that.
In my new book, What Now?, I stress how dealing with our overwhelmed nervous systems is not a matter of "talking yourself down" or "thinking your way through it." It takes physical/somatic work to calm things down. I think this applies to more than just cult recovery.
"The uncertainty of freedom is infinitely better than the certainty of a cage." You're going to find a lot of extremists disagreeing with this concept right now. They want all of us in cages. They want us "controlled" so they don't have to be afraid. It never works out that way.
"No one wants to work anymore." "This is the laziest generation." No, they've just closed and locked the hiring gates so no one can get in.
As long as I can keep finding the humor, I know I'm going to be ok. And this made me laugh out loud because it's so true.
I've seen the science. There's so much of it. The C-suite has known for decades that doing the exact opposite of what they do every single day is what would bring economic prosperity to everyone. They don't want that. They have never wanted that. In case it wasn't already obvious.
Yes, he really did say this on Fox News. This is John Catsimatidis, the CEO of United Refining Company and owner of two grocery stores in New York. He cares about nothing but money. Do you think when things go south he'll have your back? Or will he want ICE to just disappear you?
Someone referred to Trump's staff as the "Liquor Cabinet" today. Sounds accurate. It seems to me you could turn over our White House to any kindergarten class anywhere in the US and get better results than what these fools are doing.
So my new book was published yesterday and it is number one in all three categories it was posted in on Amazon. Talk about starting your day with some good news. That's pretty awesome.
There's a very real satisfaction I feel in watching Trump absolutely annihilate his enablers. There's a kind of joy in knowing that this was always going to happen and these morons were far too arrogant to see it coming. I shouldn't enjoy that but I do. I'll admit I'm petty that way.
I'm not an ex-Blockbuster employee, but I fully endorse this message.
The Aftermath Foundation isn't the only ex-cult group helping people out of the cult mindset using billboards.
There are always consequences. People in power through history have always pretended that they don't know this or they forget about it but you know who doesn't forget? Consequences. If these billionaires don't get their shit together, history shows us what happens.
