Wife is notably not a movie person, so when she says she's seen a movie twice, it's usually because her mom dragged her. So I look up Magic in the Water and it sounds WILD. Has anyone else seen this?
Oh there's a trick to that. Save the third to last episode, the one right before the two part finale. Watch the two part finale. Circle back to that other one like it's the series finale instead. It's maybe just a case of poor editing not to remind the viewers that there's canonical reincarnation.
Finished re-visiting Dune Messiah. I haven't read it since high school. Definitely have many questions for what the new movie might do.
Just finished Maggie's Grave. Once again, David Sodergren is another slam dunk for me. Teens have sex on the grave of a woman wrongly accused of being a witch in the 1600s. She's back, she's pissed, and she wants the baby they stole from her.
Just finished. It had a lot of slapstick moments that I found very amusing. That doesn't seem to be the case with a lot of other reviewers. If a drunk man with an ice arm falls over, because drunk, and his ice arm snaps off, sounds amusing to you, like a Sam Raimi, then you too might be amused.
Finished this earlier in the year (I'm currently reading along with the podcast A Song of Spice and Rhani). A not unpleasant continuation of the series, but has a little bit of a sophomore year syndrome of things being laid in place for the next book. I'm very much enjoying Storm of Swords though.
Another top contender for my favorite book read this year is Sweetpea. Rhiannon is like a female Dexter and I love her so much. I would die for her. I would kill for her. "Oh so your favorite books this year are both women murdering people?" Yes. Of course.
Mmmmmmmm. Water ghosts. Yesssssssssssss. This was quite fun. An underwater shipwreck exploration goes terribly wrong.
This was one of my more anticipated books of the year and then it disappointingly just fell short. I do try to give new queer horror a shot, and Crafting had so much going for it, but between the MC being tiresome and the questionable diabetes depiction, it ended up being a tangle of yarn.

Mister Magic was a long time sitter on my TBR list so I was very pleased with myself to finally check it off. While I enjoyed it, I feel like the story would've made an *excellent* analog horror series.
I re-read The Return earlier this year, as it remains one of my favorite books ever. It's a story of love and friendship, loss and grief, letting go and not able to let go of someone. When friendships turn toxic, when a girls trip turns sour, and when someone comes back wrong.
