We exist to create a world where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty.
The Democratic Republic of Congo is facing the deadliest Ebola outbreak in its history. Yet it's barely being spoken about in the news. Salome, our Head of Global Humanitarian Response, shares how local partners and churches are trying to reduce the spread.
Being kind? Kinda chic. Standing with people affected by poverty? Even chicer 💖
Please join us in prayer for the people of Colombia, after a devastating earthquake struck the country 🙏 Our thoughts are with all those affected, including those working tirelessly to save people trapped under the rubble.
We're not meant to carry things on our own. Galatians 6:2 says to bear one another's burdens. To share the load when someone's struggling and to let others share yours. This is embedded in our work around the world. Carrying what's heavy together, so that no one faces it alone.
The headlines may have faded but help is still needed. Golda Ibarra, Country representative of Colombia and Venezuela, from the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) shares an update. The death toll continues to rise and thousands more are still missing.
The new Prime Minister has a chance to help millions of people escape poverty. Without asking taxpayers to spend a penny more. @andyburnham.bsky.social, three choices sit on your desk: on debt, on arms sales to Israel and on who leads change in their own countries. All of them are yours to make.
Imagine being a child tonight with nowhere safe to sleep. In shelters across Venezuela, children and young people are the largest group at every shelter. Most sleep without basic protection. Gender-based violence and attempted sexual abuse were found in 41% of shelters assessed.
🚨It’s not too late to saves lives and prevent the crisis from getting worse. By donating, we can do so much more. Survivors of the Venezuela earthquake are in urgent need of shelter, water, food and medical care.
Your support helps them go further, faster. Every prayer and every gift will offer hope to people hit by disaster. Please donate what you can today: caid.org.uk/cmx
🚨 Your donation could support families who've lost everything in the Venezuela earthquakes. Two powerful earthquakes struck yesterday, a minute apart, causing devastation across Caracas and the wider country. Rescuers are searching collapsed buildings for survivors right now.
Join us in prayer for Venezuela 🙏 We pray for all those affected by the devastating earthquakes. For those who are frightened, grieving and searching. May they know they are not alone.
Events like this highlight the urgent need for wealthy countries and major polluters to cut emissions quickly. They must also provide funding to help vulnerable communities adapt to climate change and recover from these impacts.
Heat at this level puts people’s lives, health, jobs and access to food at serious risk. For people living in poverty and working outdoors, there are few options. Many have no choice but to keep working in dangerous conditions just to survive.
Feeling the heat? This week’s heatwave across Europe is another reminder that the climate crisis is no longer a distant threat but very much a present reality. India has also been facing extreme heat with temperatures regularly rising above 40°C.
This Volunteers' Week, we’re saying thank you ♥️ Thank you to all 7,000 of our volunteers who are at the heart of change. Whether you’re raising vital funds, taking action for justice or offering your time and skills, you’re helping to build a world free from poverty and injustice 🙏
We need to act now to save lives and prevent the crisis from getting worse. Every prayer and every gift will offer hope to communities in the DRC. Please donate what you can today: caid.org.uk/clb
We're working urgently with trusted partners to raise awareness, amplify health messages and fight the misinformation that puts lives at risk.
🚨 We’ve launched an appeal to help communities affected by the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). A region already at breaking point. There are no approved vaccines and no specific treatment for this strain.
A deadly strain of Ebola is spreading through communities in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Join us in praying for all those affected 🙏
As Christian Aid Week draws to a close, Father Jordan invites us into something simple but powerful. Prayer. Watch him reflect on why as Christian we’re called to stand with communities facing poverty and injustice 🙏 #CAWeek26

Christian Aid Week starts soon. See you on the red carpet (it’s a fundraiser sign up sheet)
We know that it can be hard to be hopeful. When watching the news, it’s easy to believe that the UK is more divided than ever. Yet many of you show up for each other.
We’re getting closer than ever to Christian Aid Week and we couldn’t be more excited! During the week (10 -16 May), we’d love to see you all wearing red in solidarity with our neighbours, far and wide ❤️
