t's raining! Wonderful! Hopefully there's much more to come and it dampens down the Cairngorm fires. Can't see the smoke anymore, can't see the Cairngorms, just wet grey clouds. #Cairngorms
The beautiful grasses in the meadows are thick and deep, some up to my waist. In 30+ years I've never seen them like this as there are usually cattle and sheep to crop them. Not this year. Just a few dozen sheep. #grasses
View across Strathspey to the Cairngorms & the smoke from the wildfire that's been burning for six days now. Thankfully it's under control, due to the great efforts of many people. Huge thanks to them all. #Cairngorms
I was going hillwalking in the area of the Cairngorms where a huge fire is burning. I saw the smoke and instead went up Craigellachie above Aviemore where I took these photos. I fear the damage will be great. #Cairngorms
The river Spey, July 13. Hot, bright, swirls of water crowfoot. #riverspey #rivers #Cairngorms #scottishhighlands
A telephoto shot of Braeriach today. Moody weather. Flashes of sunshine. Dark clouds. Felt like rain but didn't. #Cairngorms
Just back from walking the Moray Way. Five camps (and one hotel) along the way. #themorayway #longdistancehiking #wildcamping
Four solo backpacking tents I'm reviewing for @tgomagazine #tents
A sunny walk in the Cairngorms to a long-abandoned shelter. #Cairngorms #hiking
Springtime in the woods today. Aspen, birch, & goat willow catkins, plus a larch rose. Glorious sunshine! #Cairngorms #catkins #spring #trees
Changeable weather on my early April overnight trip, Sunshine & snow showers. #weather #scottishhighlands
Rapidly changing weather today. Sunny then snow, then sunny, then sleet. One constant - the cold wind. #Cairngorms #weather
Biggest change to our very local landscape since we moved here over 35 years ago. A big spruce plantation is being clear-felled. #Cairngorms #forestry
Photos from a spring equinox walk over Mullach Clach a' Bhlair and the Moine Mhor in the Cairngorms. A superb day. #cairngorms #hillwalking
Goldeneye & Goosander on the fast and full river spey today. #birds #Cairngorms
View to Bynack More today. Sunny but a very cold wind. #Cairngorms
It's snowing! 11.30pm, March 12. Photo taken from the porch. #snow
