I’m currently co-teaching a course on Hildegard of Bingen and this week the students created medieval illuminated manuscripts! Each piece features words from Hildegard (excerpts). They did such a fantastic job! Here are some samples.

I just finished reading the Annotated Edition of Ann Patchett’s novel Bel Canto. Whew! It was brilliant. Her comments in the margins brought the story (which I read over 10 yrs ago) to life. The edits to her own writing were thoughtful. Simply reading this annotated version made me a better writer.
