I was tricked by @benfreiband.bsky.social and @swifteves.bsky.social into not trying a Waymo at WWDC. That's not going to happen at @swiftsonicconf.bsky.social in November!
Mine was this crazy breakfast. Not only was it the first time that Bluesky power user @mattheaney23.bsky.social would speak to me, but it was also hilarious seeing him and @charliemchapman.com discover what a "breakfast pizza" was.
One day voice dictation will understand that I would never under any circumstance mention U2.
I've had one bad thing after another happen to me in the last year but I finally have an indication that things are turning around. I just found a $1 certificate towards admission to the Catwoman movie.
I'm really pleased with today's update to What's My Set. I always want to make things that are silly AND useful. Today I'm adding rest timer themes. A little silliness before your next set.
@cabel.panic.com Cabel you probably already know this, but Playdate spotting. One of the guys that maintains Big Ben uses a Playdate to help him. Nat Geo show called Best of the World with Antonin Porowski.
15 years ago I was lucky enough to see Sade live. It was the most I had ever paid for a concert so I could get great seats. Still one of my all time favorite concerts and someone that I never though I would get to see perform. She hasn't toured since!
Forget me being excited about Coin Drop being back. Silly me thinking that paying to remove ads meant that I had unlocked the full game. Here I can't keep playing unless I buy more lives or wait a certain amount of time. 🤮
I was feeling super nostalgic for old iOS games that I can't play any more. Decided on a whim to search for some and my first attempt got a hit. Coin Drop got relaunched. 🤯 Love seeing the ancient iPhone in the tutorial.
Thank you so much @hiro.report for this nice mention of What's My Set in this week's Hiro Report! www.hiro.report/05jul2026-bi...
During WWDC I got some great design feedback that What's My Set wasn't using the available space well in landscape mode. Addressing that now!
Sanity-saving use of AI: Have it resize the screenshots for reviewers that App Store Connect requires you to attach so that they meet whatever criteria are needed. No more rejected image uploads for confusing reasons.
Good news: I was charting yesterday on the Mac App Store. Bad news: I didn't remember that Mac compatibility was enabled and never tested it. The app crashed at launch on Mac. 😬 @ikenndac.bsky.social and @mergesort.me got me sorted and I'm in expedited review right now.
Nothing I do to promote my new app will ever top a poster of it hanging in an office window in Osaka thanks to @chrislindsay.bsky.social .
Well, after months of work What's My Set is finally out today. It's the workout app I always wanted and I honestly love using it. I hope some other people do as well! apps.apple.com/us/app/whats...
I assumed the animated album artwork in Apple Music would only be for new releases. 😳
As a certified dark mode hater I have been able to get away with having Xcode in light mode but the code window in a dark theme (which I strangely like). I can import the theme with Xcode 27 but it makes the WHOLE interface dark even though the config window correctly uses light mode. FB23456652
The map is enormous (Red Dead Redemption 2 size), varied, and packed with interesting content to keep finding. The developers keep patching it at an obscenely quick rate to get rid of things that are annoying and making things more streamlined.
I am still completely captivated by Crimson Desert. Even with all the time I’ve sunk into it, there’s still so much of the map that is unexplored. I thought the exploring would be fun, but the boss fights would be miserable. They actually are quite fair and the game gives you ways to handle them.
This is why there are limits to how much you can proofread your work. For who knows how long my timer descriptions have been displaying my String Catalog keys and I DID NOT NOTICE. 🤦🏻♂️ Thank you @ryanlintott.bsky.social !
As someone who spent the first few years of their iOS dev experience working on a museum app it still feels odd to be developing apps that I genuinely use in my day to day life.
If I'm just attaching an image to show App Review what my paywall looks like why are the dimensions still strictly enforced? This bites me every time. App Store screenshots viewed by millions of people - I get it. A screenshot for a reviewer - I do not get it.
I use the double tap gesture multiple times a week every week on my Apple Watch. I have been working out with my new app (What's My Set) on my Apple Watch for months testing it. It never ONCE occurred to me that I should add double tap support. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ The good news it was ridiculously easy to do so.
My first press coverage for What's My Set thanks to @darylbaxter.com and Springboard. 🥹 Thank you so much Daryl.
We've already established that I'm an introvert but I was putting in WORK in Cupertino. I had only told a tiny number of people online at this point so these pre-order numbers were almost all me asking people to help out in person. I was absolutely shameless and outperformed indie fair day. 🤯
My advice to introverts who have an interest in the @communitykit.social Indie Fair? Recruit an extrovert! Bluesky power user @mattheaney23.bsky.social came in clutch and took over after an hour when my voice started going out again. And @joe.inkle.co can verify that I am indeed an introvert.
I recently updated to Tahoe and I've gone from almost never hearing the fans on my M1 Pro to hearing them all the time. It seems to be AMPArtworkAgent taking up a big chunk of the CPU and quitting Apple Music stops it.
