Single mom, first-generation Latina, and Assemblywoman representing my community in AD11, where I grew up and am raising my son. Proud to be the first Mexican-born woman to serve in the #NVLeg.
The way we build our communities can have a profound impact on climate change. Often, HOAs restrict homeowners to certain types of landscaping that are not always well-suited to the local climate, but they also present an opportunity to expand climate-resilient building and landscaping practices.
ICE is placing bids on parking spaces in Las Vegas and other major cities. We do not know why, or what the true purpose of these bids is, but this could be a sign of where ICE is looking to expand next. We do not need more out-of-control ICE agents terrorizing our community or our state.
I was proud to join Assemblymember Erica Mosca in presenting a proclamation to Rise Academy to honor the opening of its new campus. When we invest in great schools like Rise, we are investing in the future of our children.
Today is the first day of school! To all the parents, teachers, and students, I wish you a happy school year.
Last week, I got to spend time with a group of amazing students with JAG Nevada who work to ensure they have a good career path when they graduate. I am grateful for the work JAG Nevada does!
Yesterday afternoon, LVMPD Officer Austin Abdelnabi was shot in the line of duty while attempting to stop an armed man near the 4500 block of East Tropicana Avenue. Abdelnabi later died due to his injuries.
This week, we mark the 36th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which extended the protections of the 1964 Civil Rights Act to disabled people.
Thank you, Committee to Protect Health Care, for your endorsement. As a mother, I know how critical access to affordable, high-quality healthcare is. I will continue to expand access for Nevada families.
Back-to-school is just around the corner! The Las Vegas Raiders are partnering with local salons to provide free haircuts for kids. Don’t wait, it’s first come, first served!
Last week, a group of plainclothes ICE officers with no badges, identification, or body cameras attempted to detain a man at the Las Vegas airport. After bystanders took notice, the officers simply left the man on the ground, half-handcuffed.
The state and federal government declare emergencies for disasters like floods, hurricanes, and wildfires every year, but never for extreme heat. Nevada has the second-highest number of heat-related deaths in the country.
Yesterday, ICE killed Joan Sebastian Guerrero, a 26-year-old married father of a 3-year-old daughter, on his way to work in Biddeford, Maine.
Earlier this week, ICE officers in Texas shot and killed Lorenzo Salgado Araujo on his way to work. The officers alleged that he tried to weaponize his vehicle against them, but Minneapolis has shown us that ICE officers’ word cannot be trusted on its own.
Last session, we passed a law requiring jurisdictions with more than 100,000 people to create plans to cope with extreme heat. Southern Nevada is already hot, and climate change is making it worse.
Last week, we celebrated the 4th of July a day that is, about freedom, but ICE was busy rounding up friends and neighbors, quietly disappearing them into concentration camps.
Congratulations Commissioner Tick Segerblom on winning your primary. The people of Clark County want results, and they know Tick delivers! Now let’s win the general election!
I am grateful for the immigrants, LGBTQIA people, and people of different religions and cultures that make Nevada home. I am here to fight for every single one of you!
SCOTUS ruled that birthright citizenship is the law of the land. Trump’s attempt to end it via executive order is unconstitutional. If you are born in the U.S., you are a citizen. Today is a big win for immigrants and their families. Thank you ACLU for defending immigrants and our Constitution.
As leaders, it’s critical that we understand the issues facing our constituents. Thank you Councilwoman Diaz, her staff, Commissioner Tick Segerblom, LVMPD, the City of LV Department of Public Safety, and especially the people who took time out of their day to tell us about the issues impacting them
I am proud to support the people of District 11 with issues related to state agencies and other issues impacting our community. Do you need help - With a state agency - Accessing government services - Requesting legislation for the 2027 session Contact my office: cinthia.moore@asm.state.nv.us
I joined Congressman Horsford and Governor Beshear to discuss how we’re going to address the housing crisis and protect our immigrant communities. It’s time we come together and address the biggest issues impacting people in Nevada and across the country.
Fourteen years ago, Congress passed DACA, which was meant as a temporary measure while they worked out a path to citizenship for those who entered the U.S. undocumented as children. DACA recipients face stress and uncertainty every two years when it’s time to renew.
Happy Father’s Day to all of the hardworking immigrant dads working every day to give their families a better life. We see you!
Today we celebrate the day in 1865 when the cruel system of slavery finally came to an end in the United States. Happy Juneteenth—Freedom Day!
We are still waiting for some races to be called, but I want to congratulate Hanadi Nadeem and Nicole Cannizzaro, who had tough primaries and showed voters they have what it takes to lead. No matter what happens in the other races, I am proud of our state's secure, well-run elections!

We have hours until Election Day, and I’m making the most of it by knocking doors for Nicole Cannizzaro, Hanadi Nadeem, and Matt Lay. Let’s win this election!
Congratulations to @voteericaroth.bsky.social and @venicia.bsky.social on being honored at last Saturday’s Nevada Women’s Lobby Advocacy in Bloom. I am proud to serve alongside such accomplished women!
Election Day is less than two days away, and District 10 is fired up and ready to reelect Venise Karris, an experienced and proven leader. Be sure to make a plan to vote if you haven’t already. Find your polling location or a secure ballot box at www.IWillVote.com/NV.
