Cool complement to Cory Doctorow's enshittification analysis: Cars gave freedom and new abilities at first - but then cars reformed the world to remove our freedom to walk, cycle etc to the places we want or need to go. Cars removed the freedom to not have a car. And it's not just cars of course.
