seriously, read this book. I've listened to the audiobook in Spanish and English twice each and cannot recommend it more strongly. it's incredible.

r/legaladvice • 3 hr. ago $200k in tickets led to me getting pulled over and car taken Location: Washington DC USA Long story here with lots of details. But I need some advice very bad. Essentially I was pulled over and my car was impounded by the DC police department. I have since filed a complaint against the officer and this situation is currently being investigated. 1. I was pulled over in DC around 11am. I live outside of dc in Maryland. (MD tags and license) I rolled down all windows and placed my hands on the steering wheel. The Officer came to the drivers window and said "I'm officer Jones, I pulled you over for the window tint, can you step out the vehicle for me?" 2. I replied, I've never been asked to step out the vehicle for tints, just give me the ticket please as I am late for work. I thought it was weird that he didn't request any documents like a drivers license before asking me to get out. We went back and fourth about getting out the car for a few mins. He finally said "for my safety, I need you to get out." That is when I got out the vehicle to avoid confrontation. 3. As soon as I opened rhe drivers door, the officer grabbed the door and said that he cannot let me enter the vehicle any more. And he instructed me to wait on the side walk. 4. As I'm waiting on the side walk that is when he came to me and asked for my license insurance and registration documents. I told him that all the documents are in the car. He allowed me to get the documents out of the car but then instructed me to sit back down on the sidewalk. All documents were valid. 5. After about 30 mins of me just sitting on the sidewalk with minimal information, (I asked several times what was going on, he just kept saying sit tight for me) 5 other officers arrived at the scene. 6. As soon as the other officers arrived, the original officer who pulled me over said " ok so this is what's going to happen, we're taking your car because you owe over 200k in traffic fines. he'd look so good! Spencer is a good sport for when he's modeling (and getting lots of treats) but he generally isn't a fan of costumes. if he's cold, he'll allow a sweater for a bit. my previous dog, Gus (RIP) loved a costume and was my creative muse.
