He ate between 1/4 - 1/3 of the plate before heading for a drink, but then his mama popped out from her hiding spot & he followed instead of coming back for more. I'm working on getting her to trust me, too. She'll eat food I leave out, but only if I'm not around.

And so begins the journey of getting this little guy to trust me, and hopefully also fatten him up a bit, so I can eventually get him to a local rescue.

Our clock randomly set itself 8-hours behind & it's on a wall I can't easily access to fix. Also, 107° ?! Ew.

1. Radishes! 🫜 Another from seed. Look to be on track & I'll probably be starting my next batch soon. 2. Carrots! 🥕 The last from seed, two varieties. Unfortunately neither are showing signs of success right now, but I'm hoping that'll change.

We have three types of peppers 🌶 and all are doing well.

1. Peas! 🫛 Growing from seed & currently have 6 of the 12 above ground. 2. Cherry tomatoes! 🍅 One ripened & more flowering. 3. Big boy tomatoes! 🍅 They're doing well, but not as much visible progress. 4. Cucumbers! 🥒 They've tripled in size & with a little help, are vining upward nicely.

Finally did some more work in the yard, and had a few breaks to take photos. 1. Our white rose bush that got overtaken by the other two is apparently still thriving. 2. Buddy (orange) was being stalked by one of the kittens. 3. Then he woke from his nap. 4. Then he visited my mom for some pets.

Another night of same temps. 🫠 And this is with air conditioning and all fans on. The inside temp hasn't gone below 80 all day. I need it to be Thursday with the cooler predicted weather already.

Eww. 🫠 Though I do confess our external temp reader gets a lot of direct sunlight at this time of day so it may be closer to 95 outside. Regardless, it's only mid-May. It should not be this hot this early.
