Bragging, but necessary - performed tonight with Alanis Morissette as part of Trans Voices. The music was pure magic - a crowd of 25,000 people cheering to support trans people was too.
Because I'm feeling soppy - this is Dmitri (I was learn the Fantastic Dances when I got him, and Shostakovich suits). He had a crack in the soundboard that needed repair and has never been quite right since, but that's okay because I had a crack in my right wrist and same.
London is in her glory this evening - everything smells of jasmine and baked concrete and brick, and down by the Thames the air is almost solid green. I don't know how I could love this city more.
Walked the River Crane through London today. Made a friend - if slow eye blinks and a big yawning toleration is friendship. I hope it is.
To help with the horrors, I've undertaken a quest to explore all of London's rivers. Here's the Wandle - it's pretty great. Highly recommend.
Appalling oversight! I didn't take any pictures today, but this is his 'you only exist to give me more cuddles' face
Fuck it, happy Pride everyone. May you be blessed with the queer trans vision of Jadzia Dax.
And a timeline cleanse, and goodnight. All the wild roses in my local park are blooming - we are just as much a part of nature as any other wild thing. I hope we can all find a little peace among the rest.
Timeline cleanse: thankful today for the Thames Path, and to live in a city with nature running all through it. Good luck everyone - good night.
Today's contribution to improving the vibes on Bluesky by sharing food pictures: this morning's bread baking. God bless overnight proving
Felt right to include a photo - my Nana, June, and Abba, Eric, on their wedding day. Her wedding suit was made out of reused parachute silk, and the cake was mostly decorated cardboard - but the church/family/neighbours chipped in their sugar rations to make the layer of real cake.
Happy May Day! Always the right time to enjoy the hawthorn, learn some folklore, and join a union
Ran a @transunityquilt.bsky.social workshop in Liverpool this evening and a rainbow appeared at exactly the right place, at exactly the right time. Fuck calling the UK 'TERF Island.' We're stronger, braver, and better - and we are going to win.
Double-checking a citation, found this gem from 1933: 'being asked by the magistrate why he stole curried beans, he replied: "Goodness knows."'
The book covers I grew up with - every child needs a 6 foot tall princess who cuts straight through the bullshit to wrangle her way to the life she truly needs. And the dragons get to decide their own genders when they're old enough. And there's a witch who brews cider.
The stage is ready, sound checks are rolling, the building's vibrating with sound. This is the biggest trans fundraiser the UK's ever seen. Proud to be performing with Trans Voices - proud to be working with @goodlawproject.org
A good thing today: goose at the National Archives doing important work yelling at all of the researchers* *I'm guessing the nest was nearby, but maybe it was just for fun?
Small in the grand scheme of things, but not nothing: rehearsing all day at the Royal Opera House for their family shows throughout March, in a way which is genuinely inclusive and compassionate, encouraging little ones to be creative. There are so many beautiful things to fight for.
And some reassurance: this project is for ALL of us, not just people with textile skills. The instructional video on the campaign page has more, but this is my patch: I can't even sew on a button, but I can stick something w/fabric glue and write with a sharpie! goodlawproject.org/form/trans-u...
Four days unplugged with loved ones cementing the decision to decentre transphobes from every element of 2026. That combatting their bullshit takes up a proportion of my workday doesn't give them a right to my imagination, ambitions, actions, or dreams. The world's too big for them.
