Really, REALLY enjoying this. You will too - especially if you enjoyed ANDOR. Thanks, @alexandermfreed.bsky.social. Great stuff.
My #comicsdna: - I love that Authority page so much, but I loathe the writer so I focus on the art (Hitch) and colors (Martin/Depuy) instead. - Inferno warped my fragile little mind. - The best one-page story I've ever read. - The best single-issue comic I've ever read. Good thread, Alex.
I didn't know you could move, add, delete feeds at the top of the screen/app. This is awesome.
Spending the weekend in New England with old friends from high school. The cocktail was called “Hot for Teacher” and was absolutely delicious.
If you see this, post a concert picture you took. This is a poorly-lit pic of Kermit Ruffins playing his 11pm set at Blue Nile on Frenchman St in NOLA. #NewOrleans
It's been awhile since I was caught off-guard by the existence of a graphic novel, but I really want this. An omnibus of Mark Gruenwald's Cap run? Gimme.
I was just thinking to myself, "I imagine the NY Times Pitchbot is going to post something about how this is bad for Biden or democracy". Seconds later:
Actor Wendell Pierce (THE WIRE, TREME, JACK RYAN) wrote a killer thread about the glory and wonder of New Orleans. I don't want to be the guy who pastes posts from the bad place, but I just wanted to say how refreshing it is to see someone else share their love of NOLA. I love that city so much.
Two favorite mutants, pass it on. I love the X-men. Favorite characters ever. Colossus is great. And Famke is underappreciated. The last scene of the DOFP movie, especially.
I have no fashion sense whatsoever, none at all. But holy mary mother of god, Danielle Brooks at the Oscars. Wow. (shout-out to @blackgirlnerds.bsky.social for the tweet and pic. Their BS account looks dormant, but I saw this on the bad place, and wanted to highlight here.) #oscars
While I'm happy to see Paul Heyman get his due - in Philadelphia of all places which is 100% the right place - it's kinda hard to take WWE seriously when Vince McMahon keeps getting outed as a sexual abuser. Doesn't help that others got tagged as well, and noone's really talking about this.
I cannot, strongly enough, encourage everyone to read the oral history of SCHINDLER'S LIST that Hollywood Reporter published. It is not nearly complete enough, and probably could be expanded to a book/movie/documentary itself, but the oral history is A+ and highly recommended. tinyurl.com/3sfcu3xd
