So I think teh hubby and I have established the difference between Jake and Nate's sex drives are that Jake is open-minded; Nate is WILLING. And a more visual example...
I always wanted to do this as a full comic, but who has the time? Plot twist: Candi Mountains is a dancer at the club nearby.
After much waffling, I've concluded Rob Gronkowski is the current best RL match for Biff (esp with the updated body/hair/color). Similar fratboy vibe, though honestly The Gronk seems like an extremely gregarious guy iRL...Biff, not so much ("Who're you callin' gregarious? I'm not gay!")
Damn, Nate went over super well. Here's Biff from the same abandoned project (FYI it was banner related, hence the somewhat cramped vertical dimenions).
I've noted Nate is in somewhat more trim now in the comic, I assume simply by dint of hanging around with the other gymrats. FWIW actor Michael Rowland is a decent physical and voice match for Nate. His character on Animal Control is a former Olympic snowboarder, and he looks the part.
If I'm going to do this, I'm at least going to do this when I can draw...
Nate in a chimney maneuver. Actually drawn awhile ago, but never figured out what to do with it.
Seriously, if a human guy was wearing a towel that low, wouldn't it be considered NSFW?
Very much in the draw-anything-to-see-what-sticks stage. Been gaming a lot this weekend to wind down. Guess what we've been playing? It's oddly a perfect match for him physically, even if the personality isn't quite there.
Without saying your age, post your favorite film that released the year you turned 18. Hrm, surprisingly few candidates for me that year. I swear I am not picking this one based on current events. Also didn't see it in theatres, @toonraccoon.art introduced it to me, so probably 5 yrs later?
Anyone speak Hungarian? Saw Pálinkás Szilveszter pop up a bit recently. Seems to be a military guy turned actor, that's all I can really determine. I think I've found my RL Doug. Slap on some glasses and a baseball cap. Granted, military is like the last job Doug would want...
Pick a side! I cannot believe I did this. Also, I cannot draw right now...
One good thing to come of this: I've concluded Melissa Navia (Ortegas on ST: Strange New Worlds) would make an awesome RL Dani. The right attitude in voice, body, swagger...big eyes, and looks great platinum blonde. Only thing is she might be a bit too tall...5'3". Dani is TINY...
Coming April 31st: The Class Menagerie 2.0! Special preview below! #TheClassMenagerie I know the archives are...weird, I do need to do something about that... www.theclassm.com/d/20030113.h...
Can't link it on Instagram, but when I saw this, I was all, "yeah, that fits."
DAGNABIT St Patrick's Day is always a horrible time of the year jobwise, so I keep forgetting to post this. It's frankly kind of outdated already anyway artwise, maybe next year I'll redo it. Ha ha. Ha. Ha.
May have hit the point where work is too much of a brain drain for me to draw anything of note. Have a smiling malamute after a jaunt downtown and picking up dinner.
Artists peak at 30??? What a massive load of shit. Coincidentally, the original version was done when I was around...29? Heaven forbid THAT be considered my best skillset.
Also, I BLAME @projectionedge.bsky.social FOR THIS. I HATE backgrounds, and in comic strips there's so many ways to fudge them. But for a full colored digital art, I feel obligated to do the whole thing. And Thomas' work ethic made me grudgingly look up dart references.
Yyyyeah, can't deny the colors pop more on the original. Was markers and I assume a little Photoshop tweaking, since this was the back cover of the first issue. Trying to get away from Photoshop for obvious reasons, so I avoided it this time...
My husband, and also in disguise. Um. I'll let you figure out which is which.
Just continuing attempts to see how that new coloration looks... Also, yes, Biff is tiresome.
Reportedly teh hubby's current self dispensing wisdom to his younger self, with the appropriate response. The two are working to clear the DeMontfort field of the previous year's Mascot Match. And I just really felt like drawing some huge guys. I mean, why not?
I honestly just wanted this for the last panel...it's what I started with. I kinda need it right now, so I may pull it out now and then as needed... Some updated character models. And the last one is in color so the rest are too. I was not expecting to have to choose outfit colors..
