European. Walks, books, music and travel. Ayrshire based Annan Athletic FC season ticket holder, and observing Lincoln City FC from afar.
As it turned out, it was a near perfect day. Great result for Annan at Stair Park - and got this wonderful shot of Loch Ryan on the rail replacement bus back to Girvan.
My wife and her dad are lifelong Killie fans, so it was a bit of a change to go with them to watch their team - especially when it was right on our doorstep!
Here's the least surprising news of the week. 🤦🏻♂️ In another spectacular Spectator scoop, next week they'll reveal Reform has a racism problem.
Nice to be back yesterday. Ross County deserved their win, but quite a few positives to take with that first half display against higher opposition. #annanathletic
Highland road trip. A night in Crianlarich after diverting off to get an iconic shot.
A few days in Melrose. My home town in Scotland; coming back here always restores my mental well being.
Fantastic couple days in Edinburgh, first (and last) marathon completed. Pleased to get sub six hours in unspeakable heat.
Edinburgh marathon weekend has finally arrived. Having a very quiet Saturday morning before heading over to Edinburgh this afternoon. Taking opportunity to catch up with the Stacey West podcast discussing the Skubala stay or go situation. #edinburghmarathon #imps
So big they’re playing it twice, according to the BBC (aka the cornerstone of Scottish sport.)
In other news, back in London from Paris and enjoying a pre dinner drink in Primrose Hill.
Sitting having coffee in the hotel before heading over to Gare du Nord. Paris has been a lot of fun. Stayed in a lovely area and managed to walk 18km around the city yesterday.
Swapped Dumfries for Troon in the end, given the weather - and that I was struggling to even hobble to the station after a 19 mile run. Cappuccino al fresco, ice cream on the shore - all whilst admiring the view over to Arran.
Lovely weather at Galabank yesterday, but unfortunately Annan’s faint playoff hopes ended. Nice to catch up with my old pal Rob and tried out the new post match bar snacks in the clubhouse - wonderful chilli dogs washed down with a pint, although sadly no Imps title to celebrate - yet.
Great weekend down in Lincoln celebrating the Imps’ promotion to the Championship, as well as a mate’s birthday post match and the Annan win from afar. If that wasn’t enough, Monday just became rather awesome:
Ibrox less so (especially when jet lagged) but a valiant effort from Annan Athletic. They really did have a go.
Currently on board a flight to Vegas for work. Managed to catch the Northern Lights over Greenland.
Before complaints about how Brexit is being"Betrayed" (always a sense of grievance, isn't it?), perhaps the Daily Depressed ought to tell us how Brexit is demonstrably beneficial?
