Social historian. Devoted to archives, including their social histories. Easily distracted by women's history, local politics (Oceania), and methodologies. TLDR: Geek. www.colourfulhistories.com.au
Teeth were gritted, all reviewers' comments addressed (except the one that didn't improve the article's argument and were outside my scope). Just a logic read and footnotes correction needed. **exhale**
☔️ I have a rainy day at home tomorrow. I'm not afraid to use it. 🪡
There's something lumpy in the back of a book that I borrowed:
📣 The scheme will require universities to provide professional development opportunities to help ECRs📣 Support. Your. ECRs. FYI: Having them work as RAs does not provide PD opportunities.
In the ongoing debate over whether an expert or automation is better for research, we have a contribution from Bronwyn Foott and Barbara Wojtkowski (2015; see image). Expert Intervention and Management: 1 Automation : 0 If you want high-quality, authentic work, budget for a geek.
Looking forward to hearing the words of Dr Karen George, speaker for this year's Wilson Oration. www.historians.org.au/wilson-histo...
There's something amusing in that the only notebook I've completed since graduation is filled with meeting notes, reflections, article notes, and the occasional calculation about AI and history. Omg. It's a new NOTEBOOK DAY! #geek #history #amwriting #research

I'm trying to convince the family bam we have family holiday/matching t-shirts. I've found a contender...
Maybe you should master emails being sent correctly before you get access to the rich data, you chaos demon in the making
Some work buddies just don't invest in the research process. Sheesh.
Have just purchased the first five seasons of Horrible Histories for the kidlets (20 & 17) and have made the motherly request watching is paired with historical meals. Book purchase justification at its finest!
Generative AI is allowed in the production of ARC submissions, but you have to maintain 'confidentiality, privacy and trust'. If you are using AI to support writing, take the time to brush up on your policies and privacy statements people, the devil is in the detail.
Yeah, I'm sharing an open to work here, 'cause there's some awesome historians and researchers on Bluesky, and it'd be great to work with y'all. #JobSeek #OpenToWork #History
Shorty view of one of the best gigs I've been to. Impressive line up at the Northcote theatre.
Jeff Goldbulm is the only guy to get a room full of Aussies singing all verses of the national anthem, before the show starts 🤣
There are a few podcasts that I listen to immediately on release, but the Stuff You Missed In History Class Unearthed series is something I always get curious about and look forward to hearing. Chasing down resources mentioned could be part of that enjoyment. #podcast #history #geektastic
