Such a great book, I had no idea there could be so many different approaches to observing John Berger.
RIP J.H. Prynne. Renowned for his difficulty and single-mindedness (I personally struggle with the last couple of decades) but that forgets how beautiful and lyrical much of his poetry is. "Love" is one of the few poems I could recite by heart
I think that's the thing I was dumbly gesturing at: weird era of the virtuoso punk whammy pedal power duo. Haven't spent enough time with Guttersnipe.
Every day at the moment I bike to the sea for at least a little while and read the Daodejing, partly to step back from the feeling of everything being overdetermined by purpose and current events. Some days the Daodejing does not cooperate.
i am not sure that *anyone* holds the position described in the first paragraph (maybe Hutto but...) and I think the people cited there are better represented (sic) by the second. Lack of citations in 2nd is telling imo. Or am I way off? (e.g., @tonychemero.bsky.social ?)
I am teaching design this semester, so I'm using that as an excuse to finally read Vilém Flusser. Here's a PDF of The Shape of Things: A Philosophy of Design if you're interested. memoof.me/read/589/pd For myself, I'm already in the market for two pairs of glasses and a turtleneck.

From The Kingfishers by Charles Olson "We can be precise [...] And the too strong grasping of it, when it is pressed together and condensed, loses it This very thing you are"
CHI writing trip back to ITU Copenhagen - whiteboard scrawl in my old office still untouched and evergreen in relevance.
Ah it's just that the ogreskull smashing synthesis is the bit I want to bear the weight. I did agree with OP's take there, but I have wildly particular view on games that nobody needs to take seriously.
(Most of) The @bristolhci.bsky.social crew at Yokohama this year. I think we all had a pretty great time. Thanks to the @chi.acm.org organizers, and everyone we connected with.

Watching Hong Sang-Soo's On the Beach at Night Alone again. One of my fave films. Kim Min Hee's performance goes incredibly hard. It's kinda Hong's Green Ray. It's not really doing anything differently from other HSS films, but something more basic breaks through www.criterion.com/current/post...
There's a fair bit of this in "A Year with Swollen Appendices". Being attracted to people is good and nice but theres definitely a vibe.
