In the last 40 days, I’ve: • Left the job where I worked for the past 22yrs • Moved across the country • Living in an apt. for the 1st time in a decade • Bought a house • Working to sell our old house • Started at a new company • Finally got to see my parents after 4yrs All good, but exhausting.
For over week I’ve been seeing this under my TV, & it has triggered the same thought every time: “Damn, I keep forgetting to put that Netflix envelope in the mail.” People, Netflix stopped mailing DVDs in 2023. I haven’t had Netflix-by-mail in over a Decade. This is a user manual. I’m sundowning.

There was a post that had the comments & quote post options shut off exclaiming their love for “Joe vs The Volcano” Let this be a lesson. If you Limit interaction, you may miss out on a kind-hearted stranger dropping the best 15 seconds of cinema EVER in your replies. Their loss is your gain👇
This portrait of Shirley Manson by Phillip Burke tore my brain in half over 25 years ago, & it’s never recovered since. As a cartoonist, the proportion exaggeration is perfectly done to amplify the likeness. As a painter, the color & tone is luminous, all w/ exquisite composition. Flawless.

I agree w/ this. I’ll add I also have a soft spot for Kyle Baker’s Dick Tracy adaptation. A 3 issue miniseries, the 3rd issue is a direct film adaptation, while the first 2 serve as prequels that round out characters like Big Boy & Breathless more, while also featuring not included characters.
I know there was some distance between issues, but man did Batman: Gargoyle of Gotham deliver & hit me in a sweet spot. Moody and non-stop, with incredible art & character designs, it’s one of the best Bat books I’ve read in years. Catch up if you haven’t!
Our last day on Spotted Pony Trail, in the little house that became affectionally known as “The Pink Pony Club.” The pink house treated us so well, sheltered us during the pandemic, and had a big deck that Cymbop loved to crawl under. Thanks house, be well. Philadelphia Ho!
Packing for the move, with big ol’ box of original art heading into storage for a few months. It’ll be like a time capsule, I’m sure. Philadelphia or Bust!
