The next Kid Eastwood issue I’m working on is one of the oldest ideas for the book and probably the only of those original plans from 7 years ago I haven’t done yet, so I’m real excited to get into it! In case it wasn’t obvious, it’s gonna be a superhero wrestling issue!
Issue 43 is done! Crazy to think that series 3 is only a few issues away from beating out series 2’s total issue count, and in less than a year of starting this arc. (That said, there was a 200 page issue in S2 that complicated things). I’m still enjoying the monthly pace, and hope it keeps up.
Super surprised to see this pop up! I deliberated quite a bit on it, originally that whole issue was designed to be me making fun of Spawn and its heavy edgy narration, though that petered off really quickly the further in I got. For a while, that idea extended to the cover.
Up next: Kid Eastwood 32, “THEY CAME FROM THE PUBLIC DOMAIN!” I’m really excited about getting this issue out there- I love Thimble theatre and Popeye, so for this issue I made a custom font built from E.C. Segar’s hand lettering, and I think it makes the whole thing sing!
