This week, Anthropic delivered a master class in arrogance & betrayal as well as a textbook case of how not to do business with the United States Government or the Pentagon. Our position has never wavered & will never waver: the Department of War must have full, unrestricted access to Anthropic’s models for every LAWFUL purpose in defense of the Republic. Instead, AnthropicAI & its CEO DarioAmodei, have chosen duplicity. Cloaked in the sanctimonious rhetoric of “effective altruism,” they have attempted to strong-arm the United States military into submission - a cowardly act of corporate virtue-signaling that places Silicon Valley ideology above American lives. The Terms of Service of Anthropic’s defective altruism will never outweigh the safety, the readiness, or the lives of American troops on the battlefield.
Their true objective is unmistakable: to seize veto power over the operational decisions of the United States military. That is unacceptable. As President Trump stated on Truth Social, the Commander-in-Chief & the American people alone will determine the destiny of our armed forces, not unelected tech executives. Anthropic’s stance is fundamentally incompatible with American principles. Their relationship with the United States Armed Forces & the Federal Government has therefore been permanently altered.
In conjunction with the President's directive for the Federal Government to cease all use of Anthropic's technology, I am directing the Department of War to designate Anthropic a Supply-Chain Risk to National Security. Effective immediately, no contractor, supplier, or partner that does business with the US military may conduct any commercial activity with Anthropic. Anthropic will continue to provide the Department of War its services for a period of no more than six months to allow for a seamless transition to a better & more patriotic service. America’s warfighters will never be held hostage by the ideological whims of Big Tech. This decision is final.

2016 was a whole LIFETIME ago. I was a professional portrait photographer then, so my photos are full of people I have no memory of whatsoever, I was fully into my clown project which was UNRELATED to the clown sightings that year. I saw the following exchange on Reddit & it was such a trip to read so I had to fact check it. According to a Congressional Research Service report from Dec 2014, the Cost of the Iraq, Afghanistan, and other Global War on Terror Operations since 9/11 cost $1.6 trillion. sgp.fas.org/crs/natsec/R...

Person 1: I feel like this is a valid assumption until proved otherwise. The amount of resources going into not
just making "Al" but also increasingly making "'Al" profitable cannot be understated. We're talking a deployment of personnel/resources that probably compares to small wars.

Person 2: Considering it's an investment in the trillions, wouldn't call it a small war's worth of effort

Person 3: Exactly. It's not like a small war, it's in the same ballpark as what the US spent on the 2-decade war in Afghanistan (~$2T)

Oct 20 3:53 PM PDT Between 11:49 PM PDT on October 19 and 2:24 AM PDT on October 20, we experienced increased error rates and latencies for AWS Services in the US-EAST-1 Region. Additionally, services or features that rely on US-EAST-1 endpoints such as IAM and DynamoDB Global Tables also experienced issues during this time. At 12:26 AM on October 20, we identified the trigger of the event as DNS resolution issues for the regional DynamoDB service endpoints. After resolving the DynamoDB DNS issue at 2:24 AM, services began recovering but we had a subsequent impairment in the internal subsystem of EC2 that is responsible for launching EC2 instances due to its dependency on DynamoDB. As we continued to work through EC2 instance launch impairments, Network Load Balancer health checks also became impaired, resulting in network connectivity issues in multiple services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, and CloudWatch. We recovered the Network Load Balancer health checks at 9:38 AM. As part of the recovery effort, we temporarily throttled some operations such as EC2 instance launches, processing of SQS queues via Lambda Event Source Mappings, and asynchronous Lambda invocations. Over time we reduced throttling of operations and worked in parallel to resolve network connectivity issues until the services fully recovered. By 3:01 PM, all AWS services returned to normal operations. Some services such as AWS Config, Redshift, and Connect continue to have a backlog of messages that they will finish processing over the next few hours. We will share a detailed AWS post-event summary.

I sent my best friend a text almost 10 days ago telling him I was not doing okay. I said I needed to talk to someone. He still hasn't replied. This is the reality for a lot of us. Whenever my friends have needed me, I was always there for them, no matter what time it was.

My friends, people, humans, are not there. Who am / supposed to talk to when I'm feeling low? Just deal with it? Sure, I could, but then it builds up and turns into
something worse.

I agree! I posted the article - FROM Sesame Street directly - for a reason: To summarize: Sesame Street will CONTINUE to be available for free on the PBS TV station and PBS Kids online, but will ALSO be available on Netflix the same day. Netflix will also have exclusive video games.

These new episodes of the iconic series will be available same day-and-date in the US on PBS stations and PBS KIDS digital platforms, bringing critical early learning to children throughout the country for free. Sesame Workshop is the global nonprofit behind Sesame Street, with Sal Perez and Kay Wilson Stallings serving as executive producers; Emmy, Humanitas, and NAACP Award nominee Halcyon Person (Karma’s World, Dee & Friends in Oz) joins as head writer.
