I haven't gotten "correct" home charging installed yet so I've been using a local business's chargers, which are also free. Only real downside is they're not close enough for me to want to walk anywhere so I just bring my nintendo, music, a movie, or a book.
I caught a quick-ish charge on my way out, at midnight and the charger left something in my port, which I was able to fix up the next day. I think the little plastic nub I pulled off was someone else's CCS1 DC pin cover.
It’s know your status sexual health clinic Thursday where I get tested and get my prep injection!
2026-Q2 DCFC reporting is out! Almost everything is up except for the installation rate which has slowed a little. www.paren.app/reports/us-e...
Just to put that here. Curious if they'll add a CCS1 logo or if NACS is going to be the stand-out for now.
I also trimmed my beard earlier this week and got lunch earlier today
Not quite as nice as a daytime picture would’ve been but once again at the Sedona EA. Lots of complaints on plug share about speed but it’s riding the absolute top of my charge curve with no problem.
Especially since you can still go ruin your life by attaching a 6-20 adapter to this fixed 14-50 adapter and trying to pull 40 amps out of a 20 amp circuit if you either forgot to adjust the EVSE or something happened and the EVSE forgot your adjustment
In both 120v and 240v the best-designed chargers have removable power cord ends and the specific cord that's inserted (usually based on a resistor) tells the charger which amperage to use.
This is such an extremely specific nerd detail but I hate it when people say things like "I'm an adult and can manage charging amperage myself" buddy have you ever heard of situational disability? Modular NEMA adapters and "a plug is a promise" is absolutely the way we should be advocating for
It was toy time this morning, I need to use this one more often
BYD Dolphin Surf and 51kwh Atto 2 are outright unimpressive chargers and the highest end Sealion 7 tops out at 230kW for a 24-minute 10-80 (not beating out the ioniq5.) And the Ioniq5 sells gangbusters there so Germany seems willing to buy basically the same sized crossovers and small SUV we do
as a sidenote the battery cabcar is giving NS DDZ mDDM power car which is a B-B-B unit shorter than the other cars with seating on top and power electronics down below.
This is a bad render of a perfectly fine train. CalTrain has the same units and only ten seats are lost/gained in swapping from just one to two sets of doors. ~85-100/car right now.
I haven’t decided how I want to share trip pictures yet but here’s a tasty morsel that wouldn’t have fit into any “narrative” or whatever
so I missed ROVE but one thing I did get to see was two separate third party NACS handles and just as I predicted their cables are every bit as big and they are every bit as unwieldy as a comparable CCS1 cable (forgot to flip these over & check amperages) (not going to an IONNA soon unfortunately)
APS funded an EA at a regional park in Sedona and it’s lovely. Restrooms, water, light hiking, some great landscapes (Bolt behind me in this picture) (others are at a college in Prescott, shopping center in Payson and somewhere rando in Show Low iirc)
Come to Santee if you want to make fun of me for not showering today
Well placed mirrors on the MetroLink bombardier rail car
It’s a fun site! Well-timed too since it seems like the free-vend 50kW caltrans station down the way is in need of some maintenance (usually the machine boots but the cables are ripped off, this machines cables were in great shape though)
I feel like I need to start searching more of them out and figuring out what the best angles really are but it feels like there's also something to the idea EV chargers lend themselves slightly better to a good landscape than gas pumps
Having a burger at a local brewery while the car charges for a bit
I found a tea towel by the same artist featuring basically the same version of Paul Bunyan. In retrospect this is visible in your pictures but artist Adam Turman could have more
