Walking into a building from outside like
Wild how popular the "pro-Palestine / uncommitted voters / leftists in general gave us Trump 2.0" line still is. Wasn't that all disproven pretty quickly and unambiguously once the exit polling reports started coming out like late 2024ish? That was nearly two years ago???
Holy shit maybe there is a god. Place down the street actually has it, their online menu is just old 🙌
TIL that the "almond chicken" dish I remember fondly from getting Chinese food growing up is actually kind of region specific to a few parts of the US, with eastern Washington being one. Haven't been able to find it near me in Portland yet.
This is the new golden age of opening a sketchy startup to get government funding. Both "critical mineral" mining and nuclear reactor development are popular grift sectors right now.
Gotta love sailors and their insane vocabulary
Christ, people, stop. No, AI data centers are not being built to calculate debt & surge pricing. First, you're thinking of the wrong type of data center, and second, that task doesn't require a regular one either. Also apparently that isn't even close to what Doctorow meant in that interview.
On one hand, the framing is a little disingenuous, it's a BA in "Content Creation" which is a common enough job I can absolutely see it being a semi-useful degree. On the other hand, it's ASU so lmaoo, what fuckin losers! Next they'll need a degree in binge drinking lol
I remember when a young org I worked with starting to do sci com and encouraged AI use from the start. I was trying to get them to stop generating images at least and I don't think I even got them to stop that before I left. Sad cause imo it was a lot of good people just not thinking things through.
Confused why anyone is surprised and shaking my head at people naive enough to think this is just Taylor Farms and Arizona problem. Sorry but this is America. Pretty much every large agribusiness in every state abuses prison labor, migrant labor, or usually both.
2001 kinda sucks lmao At least I get awesomesauce If only my mom could have waited a week, I'd have bussin' smh
Well the first digital image detector was invented in 1969 so I think it fits. CCDs and later CMOS were huge for space science (not to mention other fields) Telescopes did not need to use film or plates anymore and the images could be digitally analyzed. Space telescopes became feasible as well.
Not even joking when I say these AI CEOs need to face crimes against humanity charges. Intentionally destroying cultural heritage is already considered a form of genocide when focused on a specific group. What kind of crime then is trying to consume, restrict, or destroy human knowledge as a whole?
You'd think it'd be easier to get some of these guys on board with that
See, this is why I never play gatcha games, so I can save up my luck and get the rare #ithinkilikeyou golden pin from the random pin pack 😆
This editorial really feels like the 19th century polite society way of dropping a "then die" on some ass saying racist shit
