Wargamer lacking in focus with too many projects on the go and too many unfinished and unplayed. Wargaming on and off since the 70s. My blog: Whitley Bay, UK
Not much done today. Trip to town to buy (or not in this case) trainers for eldest daughter... And some paints from Element Games. Then a nurdle benefit gig at Salt Market Social. So just a bit of colour added to the four current figures. Hopefully more time tomorrow. #wargaming
Having spent half the day in a cinema watching The Odyssey there was not much hobby time available. Started prepping the Eureka stuff. Plan is to fix to the bases and once set trim them. And flesh done on four figures. #wargaming
Having finally overcome the cinema aversion induced by Napoleon I made it to my local cinema today. The Odyssey. Was OK. Once you got past the silly stuff it was entertaining enough. But too long. And I thought the end bit was better done in The Return. But I'm glad I saw it.
Bit of hobby time today. Finished basing the latest batch of civilians. Five Midlam and a random priest. And started on a load of Eureka figures. #wargaming
That there lockscreen posting thing again. I've just changed mine for the first time in years... #wargaming #lockscreen
Bit of running around today. Shopping for me and the kids. So not much hobby time. But I did finish the current 6 figures on the go. All but one from Midlam. Varnish and basing tomorrow once I've prepped some more steel bases. #wargaming
Out and about today. Walk at Bolam Lake. Then to Alnwick to pick up daughter and friend who'd been to a screening of Star Wars at the castle. They took a picnic blanket and struggled to see over everyone sitting on chairs. Too small screen and iffy sound. Hobby: bit more colour added. #wargaming
Today I have been a likely lad and taken a trip out to Bolam Lake. Always a pleasant little walk...
After all the sorting etc today just a bit of red and black work earlier on the Midlam figures. Now preparing curry and moving from Cava to vodka... #wargaming
4/4 And having packed away the ecclesiastical mob and the pirates... I found more pirates and another priest... A return to painting tomorrow while I start sorting the main C18th civilians... Of which there are a few... #wargaming
2/4 With the table cleared I dug out the relatively few C17th skirmish and civilians I have... Needless to say I have a lot more in the lead pile... #wargaming
1/4 Today's hobby update is a THREAD... No painting DONE today. But when wanting to store the recently sorted Devilry Afoot stuff I realised I needed another RUB insert so made up another of the ones from Commission Figurines...lined with magnetic sheet as usual. #wargaming
It isn't yet the end of the week, but who doesn't want some more good vibes around the place? Do me a little favour! Quote this post with something you've painted that you're proud of, or you just really like. Doesn't have to be your best, just something that makes you smile when you see it!
Bit of a busy day today and not much hobby achieved. Just got the flesh done on the next Midlam Miniatures. Still need to make a plan. Still need to tidy. Still...lots of things.... #wargaming
Batch finished. All excellent Midlam Miniatures with one of the apprentice figures hat swapped to have a tricorn... Apprentices are part of the Altefritzenburg Advokatenkollegien along with some of their servants... #wargaming
A moderately unproductive day for lots of reasons (mostly kids...) so just managed an hour or so attic time this evening. Two figures basically finished. Other three still WIP. Hopefully finish them tomorrow. #wargaming
A bit of a recovery day today. Too much wine last night... Finished the basing on the last two completed figures. Made some progress on the other Midlam Miniatures. Still a ways to go...
Not much done today as apparently I'm out drinking tonight and only just found out... So just dashed off another Midlam Miniature... #wargaming
A day of pottering, overpriced crumble, laundry, Pinot, and vodka... Flesh done on the main Midlam figures and the vampire/demon type guy almost based and finished... #wargaming
Less walking today. Less tired. After last night's Midgard decided to focus on 6mm...🤔 So... Die Altefritzenburg Advokatenkollegien employ apprentices and staff in their offices. Supplying documents. So I need figures for that. Midlam apprentices work but I wanted one in a tricorn... #wargaming
After a couple of weeks of zipping round the country I'm still uncertain on what to tackle next. But I've had this figure sat primed for ages and had the figure for longer than I care to admit...So something done today. And a nice potter and plodge on the beach. #wargaming
As my retirement plan involves reading the Patrick O'Brian books it was doing my head in not following all the terminology... so a little reference material required...
After a week of family duty bollocks I finally made it to the attic this evening (after reclaiming the garden, sorting headlights on car, ferrying kids, and a nice curry with cider) and varnished the monks and Nuns and started on the basing... #wargaming
Most of the day spent in Plymouth moving daughter out of her accommodation. Then met relatives at Treyarnon Bay for food, beer, and a walk on the beach with the dogs... Long drive home tomorrow...
A visit to the excellent Midlam Miniatures today to pick up a Kickstarter and the inevitable extra bits. We all need beekeepers... And almost finished the latest batch of Monks and Nuns. And the new leader of the Guild of Assassins. Away most of next week so no hobby for a while. #wargaming
Bit of monk and nun progress. Would have done more this evening but bumped into the lovely Heimdahl (Pyrenean Mountain Dog) while walking our dog and then ended up in the pub... #wargaming
A day of lots of walking, some minor (failed) plumbing, and only minimal daubage. Started the flesh on the monks and Nuns. And took delivery of some more colourful lichen stuff... All aided by several large glasses of Monkey Shoulder... #wargaming
A warm day at the coast. Not South warm but enough. A trip to the The Range for supplies. I hate The Range. Managed a brief attic session. Filled the gaps in the fucking stupid slotta bases* and primed all the Monks and Nuns. Start painting tomorrow. #wargaming * I dislike slotta bases... 🙂
Bit of a frustrating day so not much hobby time. So... time for some sensible painting again. Preparation and fitting to MDF slottas. Nuns and Monks... And a sneaky assassin type figure. Fill gaps in bases tomorrow and then prime.
