Today we want to highlight a queer Marxist and previous CPUSA member - Angela Davis. She has a lifetime of organizing and ran for vice president with the Party! Her book "Women, Race, and Class" is important to understand the importance of intersectionality in our struggle.
Pinkwashing has no place in a movement of people battling capitalism. It is a marketing tactic; at best it capitalizes on the plight of the LGBTQ+ community. At worst, it can divert attention away from practices that cause harm to the very community it claims to support.
Join us on June 28th from 2-4pm as we read and discuss Principles of Communism by Friedrich Engels! We'll be learning what the fundamental communist ideas are and discussing how we apply those today as the Communist Party.
Join the Portland CPUSA Club on June 14th from 12-2 at Workers Tap for Coffee with a Comrade! We plan to be outside by the food truck - if not available we'll have CPUSA gear on a table Q&A with CPUSA members, discuss our strategy, learn how we connect different struggles!
Our Club has grown considerably - this is our largest Convention since forming in 2023.
On Saturday we held our annual Club Convention to review the work of the past year, plan our upcoming year, and elect leadership. We're excited to continue our work in the next year - education, organization, peace work, anti-ICE organizing, Health Care For All, and more!
Providence is cutting insurance for over 400,000 Oregonians to “strengthen its financial footing”. That means delivering care was not profitable enough for them to stay in Oregon, and that’s all patients are to Providence: sources of profit.
On Saturday May 30th the Portland CPUSA Club will host our 2026 Club Convention, one of the most important events of the year for our internal democracy. We’ll review our work over the past year, set goals for 2026, adopt a plan of work, and elect Club leadership!
Race blindness is a rationale used to justify the continuing attack on voting rights, and on all attempts to repair real existing racial disparities in who has a voice in the political and economic life of the United States.
We joined thousands in the streets of downtown Portland today, marching for peace, ICE out, and the funding of our communities. Happy May Day!
The Communist Party USA Labor Commission calls for a working-class program that can unite the multiracial, multi-gender, multi-generational working class and our allies — civil rights, women, youth, LGBTQ, immigrant defense, and peace movements. - Six-hour day, no cut in pay …
This May Day, we aren’t just protesting Trump and MAGA; we are building the working-class led, pro-democracy coalition that can lead us out of this crisis and toward a socialist future where the people and the planet come before profits.
Join the Portland Club of the Communist Party USA on April 26th from 12-6 at 122 NW Couch St for our monthly Community Organizing Workshop, fondly nicknamed COW! This event is open to anyone and is free. Any attendees are welcome to drop in and out. We hope to see you there!
Join us alongside dozens of other community groups, political organizations, unions, and more as we rally this May Day! Working people are under the most intense assault in generations. We are producing more wealth than workers ever have in history, yet our wages have flatlined.
There is enough if we share - a new tote for the Oregon District of the Communist Party USA! Designed by a Portland queer Asian American woman artist Interested in getting one? Catch us at a tabling event, or members can get one at a meeting!
Our next book club covers Imperialism: the Highest Stage of Capitalism by Vladimir Lenin! Anyone is welcome to attend, even if they haven't read. We'll discuss the importance, modern relevance, and application of Lenin's analysis. April 12th 12 to 1:30pm Holgate Library, room 2A
Join us at the upcoming No Kings rally and march on March 28th from 12-4pm at the Oregon Battleship Memorial We'll be tabling with literature, shirts, books, totes, and stickers as well free signs. Come find us, let's talk about the Communist Party and our political situation!
Join the Portland Club of the Communist Party on the 22nd of March from 12-6 at 122 NW Couch St for our second Community Organizing Workshop, fondly nicknamed COW!
The Oregon District has compiled our suggested reading list! This goes from introducing the concepts to people completely new to Marxism Leninism to more advanced study for those that are well versed. We also included non-book media to enjoy.
Come discuss The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury through a communist lense on Saturday, February 21st, from 2 to 3:30 PM. This event will take place at the Holgate Public Library in large community room 1B.
On Sunday the 15th from 12-4PM we are hosting the first COW - Community Organizing Workshop at 122 NW Couch St! There will be art builds, discussions around tenant organizing, neighborhood organizing, education, anti-ICE work, and much more.
The crowd was non-threatening and was only trying to make their voices heard. Protestors outraged about ICE murders and violence saw firsthand that no one is safe from the domestic terror. The escalation from ICE is unacceptable and yesterday's events only strengthen our resolve
Yesterday our Club joined over a thousand peaceful protesters made up of parents, union members and leaders, children, and other peaceful protestors. ICE responded violently by tear gassing the crowd, which included children, elderly, and the disabled.
Members of CPUSA are dedicated to helping advance the day-to-day struggles of the working class and all people on the road to a socialist USA. In Portland we organized around healthcare, housing, peace, anti-ICE, rising utility costs, labor organizing, policing, and more!
We condemn ICE, we condemn this fascist MAGA government, and we stand in solidarity with all those who are impacted by ICE and who are involved in the struggle against ICE. This weekend our members attended several vigils and rallies in solidarity with Renee Nicole Good.
On January 7th ICE agents in Minneapolis brutally murdered Renee Nicole Good, and two more people were shot right here in Portland the day after. These acts of violence were despicable and predictable as ICE is allowed free reign to enact violence on anybody they see fit.
Contradictions drive history forward. Come discuss On Contradiction by Mao Zedong with Portland CPUSA to learn more about contradictions and why they matter on Saturday January 10th from 2:30 to 4:00 PM DM for location / virtual option. All are welcome, even if you haven't read!
