I read a lot, but not that much fiction these days. However, on a whim, I bought A Work of Human Hands by William Preston, and boy, was it a great read! It really left an impression on me.

Three episodes in, I'm really enjoying Widow's Bay. It's quite the expert weaving of creepypasta horror, character comedy, and mystery box. We'll see if they land that last one, but it's definitely been worth watching just for the performances from Matthew Rhys down.

Gerry Conway has died. If you were a comics fan in the 1970s, that will probably mean something to you; otherwise, I doubt it. But to me, he'll always be the guy who killed Gwen Stacy while Stan Lee was on vacation, and for that, he deserves an atomic hat tip. R.I.P.

I only saw it for the first time a few years ago, but it's now unquestionably a Top 5 film for me. So happy to finally have it in good resolution, and can't wait to partake of the extras!

I finally finished Rudy Rucker's Infinity and the Mind today. It's a book with which I've been struggling for about 42 years. I first started reading it in 1983 but abandoned it in its early chapters because the maths were so beyond me.

I'll never forget the Wednesday in 1988 when I picked up the latest Village Voice and opened it to find the film I co-directed being lauded this way. In my mind, over the years, I had somehow attributed "The Cool 20" to John Holmstrom, but I now realize I was confusing him with the late JD King.
