LORE DROP TIME #crimlore

The universe was born along with a dozen of godly beings called architects. They didn't yet know the extent of their power but they had one desire: to create and learn

For several millennia, they just learned how to use their powers to create planets, stars and whatnot. But they never figured how to create life. Eventually putting all their knowledge together they manage to create the first life in the universe

However, they have an argument afterwards, realizing that worship made them stronger some architects think they should keep creating life and forcing them into worship so they can finally learn their true purpose. Meanwhile the others think this isn't what was wanted of them. During their conflict they forget that the world they made was barely self sustainable so the people ask them of help, but not getting anything they use the traces of magic that the architects left on the planet to make their own magic. This enrages the first group of architects and a war wages between them, as mortals the people didn't stand much of a chance but some of them manage to flee. Meanwhile the other group of architects learn of this war so architects wage war between each other. After many deaths they make a truce, they would not step into each others' territory and would have another war like several millenias later

Also, the architects are made of stabilized astral weave. Think of astral weave as just pure solidified magic. When they die their astral weave destabilizes and they turn to an astral rift which is basically a black hole that emits infinite magic. If someone falls into these rifts they'll find themselves in a currently unnamed realm that is just all pure unstable magic

Moving on to the escaped people, now named heretics, they've been hunted by the first group of arhictects (which I'll refer to as Arch1 until I find a better name cuz that shit is long af) and imprisoned in an alternate realm devoid of all life.

Later on, the Arch1 imprison any living being they suspect of plotting against them, and because of how hostile the corrupted realm is now not many people live for long. But those that do start making societies again, the few people knowledgeable in weaving use the near infinite source of astral weave to create safe havens for people that come in there. Eventually they find the prototype weapon, a battery of sorts that absorbs the unstable astral weave; they use it to empower themselves to the point that they become tyrants over the whole plane. Once there to help other prisoners they now sacrifice the prisoners to add to their power, as their unstained souls help empower the battery even further

Icara, the planet that Crim and most of my ocs live in, was one of the first planets made before the architect war. The moth girl I showed earlier is actually the architect that made the planet. It was thought to be a useless planet that couldn't have life because it was too close to the star it orbited, but somehow some astral weave found its way into the planet and created mushrooms that basically absorb the extreme star light and distribute it underground in liveable levels. And so, the planet harbored life beneath the scorched surface. Some areas had more astral weave than others so they would have a lot bigger wildlife, both sentient and wild

The architects have no idea that people can enter/exit the corrupted realm (which I just remembered is called pale realm), so the Wardens used that to travel to other planets and gather info on astral weave that is unavailable anywhere else
