Currently reading The Reformatory. This is an absolute 5-Star read!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Historical horror with elements of gothic fiction. I’m not even done, but I highly recommend everyone read it. I’ve cried, gasped, cringed, been outraged & heartbroken — I’ve run the gamut of emotions. #TheReformatory 📚💙
I just harvested my first bounty of Haskap berries from the 3 tiny shrubs we planted last spring. They’re tart & sweet & juicy. 😋 #Haskap #Berries #Gardening
As always, Anne Bishop’s newest is fantastic! Love, love, love her writing. It’s definitely dark fantasy, but her writing style shows her deft artistry and it’s comforting to read the work of a true wordsmith. Hers books are a must buy for me. #AnneBishop 📚💙
Tetley discontinued their Blueberry Green tea blend. Why? 🤦♀️ It was the only product of theirs that I bought. I just brewed my last tea bag. ☕️😢
My frozen shoulder finally felt well enough to pull out an unfinished quilt project today. Finished all the piece cutting — made sure my rotary cutter had a new blade. We’ll see if I pay the price tomorrow. 😣 Background fabric is 100% cotton & the feathers will be flannel for a textured quilt top.
Just finished Oyinkan Braithwaite’s newest, Cursed Daughters. What a fantastic read! And the narration was beautifully done. 📚💙
Cozy goodness—today’s tea purchase from my favourite tea shoppe in Stratford, Ontario—Distinctly Tea. We braved the extreme cold temps and punishing winds and ventured out to Stratford since they no longer have a Waterloo location. #DistinctlyTea #TeaDrinker #Tea #StrafordOntario
I’m about 33% of the way through reading my 2nd book of the day. 1st book was just some light-hearted fare. 2nd book is ‘Truth Telling’ by Michelle Good — this is my selection for prompt 2 of @thestorygraph.com Genre Challenge for 2026 — A Non-fiction Book About Indigenous History. 📚🦋 🎧🦋
I was dubious about how much I’d enjoy Tomorrow & Tomorrow & Tomorrow, but I think it might actually be a 5⭐️ read for me. I’m just 20 mins out from finishing the audiobook and am sad it’s almost done. 📚🦋 🎧🦋
I haven’t done much quilting in 2025 because of my damned frozen shoulder making it hard to use a rotary cutter, but I think I’m gonna start to work on this one in 2026. Perhaps I should start small for learning foundation paper piecing quilting, but I’m gonna jump right in. Wish me luck.
My son got me a set of custom-made stitch markers for knitting from AliceRCrafts — so pretty! 🧶🦋
I put a 📍 on rereading some favourites. I’ve been meaning to open Ducks by Kate Beaton for awhile now—finally started it last night & I’m hooked. #DucksKateBeaton 📚🦋 #GraphicNovels
Today’s read is Omar El Akkad’s ‘One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This.’ #BookSky📚🦋 #AudiobookSky
Enjoying Oyinkan Braithwaite’s ‘My Sister, The Serial Killer’ on audiobook for my work commute this week. #Booksky 📚🦋 #AudiobookSky
Ready to hear VP Kamala Harris talk about her book in Toronto, Ontario. #Toronto #KamalaHarris #107Days
These types of evenings are some of my favourites after a busy day of yard work & other tasks. Asha is so completely relaxed on my lap, that she’s let her back leg dangle. She’s in a deep sleep. I’m reading an interesting anthology of Canadian poetry. #SpeechDriesHereOnTheTongue BookSky📚🦋
Holding my most recent publication in my hands — it finally arrived today! I contributed a book chapter to this fantastic scholarly edited collection. #Published #Scholar #AcademicResearch #Writer #BookSky📚🦋
Jane Goodall inspired my daughter to study evolutionary anthropology at uni—& it all started with this book I gifted her over a decade ago. She texted me tonight absolutely gutted that her idol had passed. RIP Dr. Goodall. You made a difference. 💔 #DrJaneGoodall #InspirationalWomen
Is this not the cutest ruler? 🐈⬛😻📏 I got this for my 2026 Hobonichi Hon. #Hobonichi #PlannerStuff #CatSky
Just finished Grady Hendrix’s, audiobook of Witchcraft for Wayward Girls. Surprisingly enjoyable—even though it’s over 16 hrs & I winced through many graphic descriptions of body horror. 😖 📚: Horrorstör; My Best Friend’s Exorcism; & The Southern Book Club’s Guide To Slaying Vampires. #BookSky💙📚
July was my lowest reading month so far this year, but I still managed to finish 10 books. The three pictured in the graphic were the best 3 of the bunch. #BookSky 📚🦋 #JulyReadingStats
